sneaking additional software during an update.

I had to update some suport software from adobe for my web browser, because I had just done a clean install of win 7 to wipe my hard drive of random forgotten files and other junk. And was very upset after stoping and restarting the download/install several times to find I was being forced into not only downloading but installing not one but TWO completely seperate programs which were not neccessary for the first, JUST AFTER WIPING MY HARD DRIVE! Was given no option to refuse the download and the update application was actually designed to display all three programs' downloading and installing simultaneously but with seperate progress bars, each installing independantly upon completion of the download, yet no option to refuse, pause abort- showing how deliberate this was. Worse of all of this is now even though I see it in my web browser add-ons list, I cant uninstall or remove it! While I'm sure someone more adept at computers may be able to find and remove it, I have not been able to.

Who do you think you are? Because my desktop pc is dependant on some of your software, that gives you the right to sneak progams YOU have contracts with onto MY hard drive? More to the point, I had already refused during the software install before you ignored my choice during the software update. IF there isn't a law against this, there should be. Good old simple abuse of power. Thanks adobe inc

The only "Adobe" I run is CS2. On stand-alone computer.

Besides some of the "software" you claim is being sneaked onto your
computer isn't coming from adobe... sometimes it's coming from hackers
who are exploiting flash loopholes.

Running a computer without flash is... actually pretty easy. Youtube
has an extension that makes it work for me. Except the embedding
stuff.

And if I really really want to see flash online, i just run Google
Chrome.

easy peasy

If you don't like it, don't install it. How is your pc dependant on
the software? It sounds like you are dependant on it, but your PC is
not. I'm sure you read the terms of service before you clicked on the
accept button, so you are fully aware of what was being installed.

This is what you indicated in your complaint.

IF there isn't a law against this, there should be. Good old simple
abuse of power...

And exactly how is this law supposed to be enforced?

Who enforces this law?

How is that simple abuse of power?
