rude owner to customers

Posted Sat August 4, 2012 4:30 pm, by Tiffany W. written to All About Home

There was a car show going on. I (who's 8 1/2 months pregnant) was with my family. It ended up getting too hot for us girls to be outside. The.guys continued to look at cats. Well my stepmom, 10 yr old sister and myself went into this store to cool off and to look around. Its my.dad and stepmoms favorite store. I have never been there but wanted to purchase a few things if I found anything since I am.expecting soon. Anyways, we were in there for about 10 mins looking around I needed to.use the.restroom so.they.sat down.on some of the furniture to wait for me. Then my.little sister needed to.go so.I sat to.wait before we looked around again. But the husband of the owner came over to.us and started yelling at us saying we were being rude so.he's going to be rude and told us to.get the heck out of.the store because we havdnt bought anything.yet and were sitting down. He then.yelled at my little sister who.was on her way to the restroom to get out and leave. She wasn't able to use the.restroom. I had full intentions on possibly.buying something.but since we were looking.for.10 mins then.used the.restroom and not bought anything we were supposably rude. He was not nice.in the least.bit or considerate to.a child or is grown adults for.the matter. So in the end he threw us out.

They need to be more considerate. We were still looking around the store to buy something. 10 mins wasn't long enough. Also, if he didn't want us sitting on furniture.he.could've politely had said so.or.have signs up that.say.not to sit on furniture. He had no.right to yell at us.or.a child and say the things.he.said. I think they.need to.go.to.classes to.learn better.customer service skills. An apology would be nice too.

that since it was so hot out, that maybe a lot of people came in to
get out of the heat. I'll also guess that a lot of people sat down on
the 'For Sale' furniture without any intention of buying said
furniture.

We are likely not getting the entire story here.

Yes, he was rude. But I'll bet he had a lot of people attending the
car show using his store as a pit stop/shade rest area.

You weren't a customer. An owner can't be rude to a customer who
isn't yet a customer.

Tiffany W.,

He should not have yelled at you. A firm "Our bathrooms are for
customers only" might have worked with those thoughts supplemented by
signage.

I just glanced up at the tail end of your letter. You were sitting on
furniture that this guy had for sale?
Not the right thing to do so most likely this was the issue that
pushed him over the edge.

On the other hand, how else is a customer supposed to test a couch? by The Original Nethead Sun August 5, 2012 @ 3:22 PM
