About three weeks ago, Amazon ran what I thought was a promotion on an HP netbook for $199.99. Turns out it was a mistake and a very important piece of information was omitted - that price was only available if I signed up with AT&T's service. The order was canceled and after a few e-mails, I got a $10 Amazon gift certificate for my troubles. I e-mailed back asking for more because, let's face it, $10 doesn't go very far these days, but received no reply.

Two weeks later, I used the $10 on a power supply that cost $76. Today I discovered that the same power supply costs $56 on Amazon.com. Unfortunately, during a phone conversation with a customer service representative I was told that Amazon does not offer price matching. However, when I was transferred to a supervisor, Codie B., he suggested a workaround which, while seeming a little bit counter-productive to Amazon.com (since it would have to pick up the tab on the return of the first order and ship the second one free), was very helpful to me. Effectively, I got $20 back and am very thankful for that. Additionally, Codie added another $10 to my account after I told him of the original problem.

This is the kind of customer service I had grown to expect from a reputable retailer such as Amazon.com and this is another example of why I keep coming back to it. Thank you very much.

Good to hear when a company gets it right!
I love Amazon, and this reaffirms my choice to continue ordering from
their company.
