Today I received a letter, sent to the president of the company for which I work, that noted dissatisfaction with a product I help develop. This particular individual took the time to point out a very specific detail about the product and how it didn't conform to her needs. And while I respect this opinion, it occurred to me that, despite the extraordinary success of the product in question, I've never received a letter commending the positive aspects of the product.

People never seem to write letters to company presidents when they're happy, do they?

For this reason, I wanted to take the time today to work on a new trend. I am writing you to let you know that I have been consistently thrilled (not just satisfied, but thrilled) with the service and products I have received from your company. I have shopped with Amazon.com for approximately 9 years and have enjoyed every transaction. Your customer service is stellar, prompt, and courteous, your product selection is comparable to no one else, the website easily navigable and a pleasure to use, and I have never received a product from you that I did not thorougly enjoy both in terms of quality and fulfillment of its description.

I always come to Amazon.com first for my media purchases, and I always recommend Amazon.com to my friends. In fact, even when I wish to recommend a product, such as a book or music selection, I use the Amazon.com weblink to do so.

So thank you for your stellar service and your dedication, and please keep up the good work.

Rarely does a company respond in such a case. Its kind of disapointing that they dont take the time to address a compliment. Not even a quick "Thanks for taking the time to let us know you like our product!" It happens a lot. And often I find myself thinking that there isnt any point in letting a company know when I am satisfied with them because it doesnt seem to matter. I dont expect anything...just acknowledgement. So that might be a reason why a lot of people dont bother. However, I just wanted to say that I have enjoyed using Amazon.com although I dont order from them often. But almost always, before I buy something I am not sure about, I go there and look it up and check out the ratings on it. And I really like that. The one time a package got lost, they overnighted me a new DVD at no extra charge!!! Amazon is the best!!
