Why are you such a lying company, is it because you feel like you can get away with it?

I had received my bill back in August 2005. There were some health issues (very bad)and Hurricane Katrina came through Louisiana at this time. My paycheck was affected and I did not get my full paycheck at this time. I called AE and talked to them and they were super nice that this non payment due to the circumstances would be taken care of. They also offered to increase my money due to the circumstances. This is where the lie begins. I had to call each month and talk to a different person that would tell me that this was all taken care of. I talked to Ms. Smith,(8-?-05), Tim Harris (8-?-05),Mr. Fernandez (9-2-05). Each month I was told this was taken care of yet I would have late charges, and my interest rate went up. I sent them a letter January 31, 2006 and still never did hear back from them. On 4-1-06 a total of 452.23 was taken off my bill, plus I paid 250.00 on my bill. Later on another 452.23 was taken off, but yet put back on the bill. I never did receive any information from them about why did they add that back to the bill when they should not have because this dispute had been going on for 6 to 8 months.
You will be getting a check from me to pay off the entire balance of my bill. I would like to be compensated for your lies in which you overcharged me. For instance that second $452.23 that was added back to the bill. I feel that you owe me this and much more because you charged me a higher interest rate due to your screw ups. I have tried for 1 1/2 years to get this straight. You are a sorry company that lies.

I understand where the anger, frustration, and feeling like you were lied to come from. American Express seemed sympathetic and kind. Even to the point of "increasing your money". I take that to mean they raised the limit of what you could charge? That IS nice of them. I'm sure the interest rates also changed if that were the case, but that wasn't mentioned, I can only imagagine what a rise in interest rate can possibly do to a credit card balance.
Anyway, the reason of writing this is to get some kind of forgiveness for 452.25 and you blast the company calling them liars?
I think, after all this time that's passed already, why not take a week's breather and maybe re-think the tone of your letter. Basically, the way it stands now, I doubt they would even try to meet you half way. Bascially in a business letter you have to schmooze the company a bit..let them know you've been happy in the past etc etc.. catch more bees with honey. Whoever reads it in this form is not, believe me, going to bring it to the attention of someone who may be able to help. You feel they owe you this and much much more....higher interests and screw ups...etc.
Higher Interest rates come with greater risk, no matter what the reason or circumstance. I'd be grateful if they even gave me a quarter of that amount back.

I realize you are very frustrated, but the time to write a letter to a business is after you are calm and can carefully write a business letter that will actually help you reach a resolution with the company.
You want something from them (a resolution, forgiveness of $452.23), yet you feel that calling them a "sorry company that lies", screw ups and liars is okay. I'm not sure how you think that is going to make them want to help you.
