Great job AppleBees!

On March 31, 2007 a group of friends had gathered to celebrate my husband's birthday at your Lyndhurst, Ohio location. Knowing that large groups are hard to accommodate on a Saturday evening, we called ahead and spoke to the hostess. We explained that we had a group of twelve and she explained that they may have to split us up. We were a bit concerned about this because while everyone in the group are close to us, they did not know each other well so splitting the group could cause some discomfort.

We arrived and waited approximately 15 minutes before they sat us. They had taken our group to the far front corner of the restaurant where they pulled tables together to make room for us. Our server informed us that other than us he only had one other table which was right next to us. We jokingly told him that there were no excuses for bad service then! Boy did he live up to that! I wish that I had gotten his name but being the spouse of the birthday boy, I was talking to our guests.

At all times, our drinks were correct and on the table in a timely manner. He carded all members of our party who ordered alcohol and promptly informed us that they were out of Sobe to make the Cherry Limeade. Our food came out together with the exception of a burger. He explained that it had mistakenly been taken to another table, the replacement was out within minutes. He was friendly, polite and had apparently picked up on the celebration and who's birthday it was. He made a comment to "the birthday boy". Lastly, as we were wrapping up our meal he had noticed that one person had not eaten her steak. He asked if she would like a box and she told him no, it did not taste right. He then asked if she would like him to take it off the bill and she replied it wasn't a big deal. When she received her bill, it had been taken off.

All and all it was a very pleasant evening. Our server took care of so much that I was able to sit back and entertain our guests without worrying that they were receiving bad service.

I would appreciate if this letter could be passed on to this location. Though I don't recall the server's name, I'm sure he'll remember us by my husband's very tall blond mohawk!

What a great letter! What a great server!

And your husband has a "tall blond mohawk"? That explains sooooo very
much about you. ;)

Love, love, LOVE letters like this!!! Sounds like not only did you
have a great server, but you were a great customer. You allowed your
waiter to remedy the issues with the late burger/bad steak, and
appreciated his effort. I see so many letters on here that suggest the
customer is part of the problem, it's great to see someone who looks
at the big picture.

I'm sure the Applebee's at this location will remember who the waiter
was that served the big party in the corner last Saturday, and I sure
hope they recognize him. Sounds like he deserves it!!!

Great letter, Nichole!!

What an awesome letter, Nichole - I've been to this particular site a
few times and I have to agree that their service has always been
stellar.

So glad you took the time to let them know.

More Diners and Fewer Whiners! Is this PFB? This is one great letter
for so many reasons. You know, blonde mohawks can be very itimidating
to the mis informed! The poor guy was probably SCARED out of his wits
to make a mistake!!! ha ha ha

No, honestly, I admire people who take the time to bring good service
to the Company's attention. Everything went smoothly plus The fact
that the steak was realized as a mistake and taken off the bill plus
the extra attention to detail because it was a celebration should be
praised.

Great Job!

Nice letter! The thing I like best about it was that you called ahead
of time. I can't tell you how many people barge into a restaurant with
large parties thinking that its the restaurants problem if they can't
serve them! Its nice to see that some people still have some common
sense!

Dang you, Nichole. Don't you know... Planet Feedback is for whining
and being unreasonable. They made you wait 15 minutes. What, no
hissy fit on your part.

They were out of cherry limeade. Surely, you're entitled to a couple
of free meals.

The steak didn't taste right. Where's your lawyer? Surely, you're
going to report this to the local news media.

A burger not brought out at the exact same moment as everyone else's
food. Surely, the person that ordered that burger spiraled into a
depression on the thought of having to sit 5 minutes while everyone
eats. Gosh, if that happened to some PF writers, we've have the
making of a suicide-hostage situation, I'm sure.

(He he)

Nichole, it's refreshing to see a positive letter! Good job to this
Applebee's, this waiter, and to you.

Very good letter! Thanks for writing!

It's nice to see that a late burger didn't "ruin your entire visit"
like we've been seeing in other letters on PFB. ;)
