The second-largest bank in the US by assets (behind Citigroup), Bank of America boasts the country's most extensive branch network, with more than 5,700 locations covering some 30 states from coast to coast. Its core services include consumer and small business banking, credit cards, investment banking and brokerage, and asset management. In 2007 Bank of America bought U.S. Trust from Charles Schwab for more than $3 billion and acquired Chicago-based LaSalle Bank from Netherlands-based ABN AMRO for some $21 billion. Also that year the company made a $2 billion investment in Countrywide Financial, and in early 2008 agreed to buy the troubled company for some $4 billion in stock. |

Making Home Affordable |

Dear Bank of America,
I am currently unemployed, and I am at risk of losing my home. I have gone through both the FHA streamline refi, and the making home affordable programs, both being denied. Under both programs I have been lied to, and given false information. I was told by one of your reps that I needed to be late to qualify for the Making Home affordable program, so I didn't make...

DISTRAUGHT |

by Danielle L. of Gautier, Mississippi written to Bank of America Posted Thu November 19, 2009 12:31 pm |

I opened a "secured credit card" through Bank of America in 2006. After Katrina, it was nearly impossible to rent equipment, moving trucks, or even buy bubble gum without a credit card to use for identification or to secure a rental for any type of clean up equipment here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Probably due to all the theft and shady new contractors in the area. Nevertheless, I...

Incorrect 1099-C |

Bank of America sent a 1099-C for tax year 2008.
The amount was wrong.
I have called repeatedly to have this mistake corrected.
Bank of America says the third party company that mailed the 1099's is responsible for the mistake and needs to correct. (Customer representatives can see the mistake, but say they are unable to correct the mistake.)
The third party - the number on the...

On 11.16.09 I visited the branch located at 73 Main St, New Egypt, NJ to use the ATM machine. In my attempt to withdraw $20 the machine failed. I went to the window to signal a teller and was waived inside. Inside the branch I was greeted by Maria Laina Larios who asked if she could help me. I explained that the male teller waived me inside when the ATM machine failed to issue my money. This is...

I called a Bank of America account manager about a disputed charge. I wrote down the details of the documentation I needed to submit. The date was on or about October 20, 2009. The account manager said I had until December 19, 2009 to submit the requested documentation related to this disputed charge on my credit card. I gathered all the related documentation and wrote a 4 pages typed letter...
