Credit Card Application and Valuing Your Customers

Posted Tue August 7, 2012 10:09 pm, by Jarod T. written to Bank of America

I have been working diligently on my credit for the past year and a half. I also just got married, moved to Orlando and bought a car. I had a couple baddies six-seven years ago (I got sick and sent to a specialist, as well as getting laid off.) I called and asked for a reconsideration on my rewards card. Every representative that I have talked to has been condescending, non-understanding. I don't live close to a Bank of America anymore but really wished to keep my business with them. But I know I will be traveling quite frequently coming up soon and need a rewards card that will benefit me for that. I feel like if Bank of America doesn't value my business enough to lend me credit (even though others such as Chase and Capital One will), I see no need to continue driving out of my way for checking and saving with them either.

Please let me at least talk to someone in the executive office and reconsider my application. Give me a chance to explain the things that they don't like.

This is called a calling service job and they do not give a flip about
your "problem." The banks and MANY other business use these services.
If you get irate they will lie and and leave you happy...or hanging.
Go to your bank personally, and by the way Bank of America, Chase are
the WORST banks to deal with. Go to a "credit union" you will have a
better chance and better service. Oh by the way "I" know these
business hire "young" kids to do this job and you all are a laugh a
minute when they hang up. Get wise.

You admit that you have had credit problems. The bank doesn't care
why. They look at it as a potential risk. If they give you the credit
you want, how do they know you will repay the debt if you've shown in
the past that you might not be able to.
