Bath & Body Works Needs Different Tape
by Lisa A. written to Bath & Body Works Products

Write a Letter to this Company

To whom it may concern,

I love Bath & Body Works products! However, because there isn't a store where I live (in Canada) when I was in the States, I decided to pick up a gift card from your store, so when the sales came up I can order my favorite scents and have them shipped to the border so I can pick them up.

I recently picked up an order of mine and was very impressed that your company taped the lids down, so there was no chance of anything spilling. The problems started when I tried to peel the blue tape off, it peeled part of the label off on certain products. On the bubble baths it wasn't too bad because it was just the clear plastic covering. However, on my Sparkling Peach & Pomegrante body cream, it peeled the label right off, so I have an entire strip missing on the front and back of the bottles. Although it doesn't affect the product in anyway, the Pomegrante lotion is a gift for my mother. I know that the missing strip won't bother her (She'll just be excited to get it!) if I were giving it away to someone else, I would feel bad, as the container doesn't look new.

I think it's great that you tape the lids shut, but perhaps you could look into a different type of tape that doesn't ruin the bottles.

Thank you for your time, and for creating such greats products!

I recieved an e-mail from BBW:
Dear Lisa,

"Thank you for taking the time to share your comments regarding your
recent order. We sincerely regret that your experience was not a
completely positive one.

Please accept our sincerest apology for the damage caused to the
product
labels by the tape. As a token of our apology, we are sending you a
$10.00 gift card for use online. This gift card should arrive at your

billing address within 7 to 10 business days. Additionally, we
recommend
prompt removal of the tape upon arrival of your package as this will
decrease the chances of damage to the product label. "

Believe it or not, what I appreciate more than the gift card is the
fact that it was not just a canned response, they took the time to
write an actual e-mail.

I like your letter a lot, it's stated in a nice way, and not asking
for much, really. I hope they take your suggestion to heart and find
some other way to package their products! Hope you hear from them!!

Excellent letter!

Maybe they could try putting the tape around the bottom of the lid and
the top of the bottle so it would hold it shut but avoid going over
the label?

I love B&BW! Creamy Coconut and Pearberry rule my bathroom!

Maybe they could shrink wrap the items. That way they'd be sealed
tightly without the use of sticky tape.

Nice letter!

Nice suggestion, I hope they take notice. We ladies love the cute
bottles in our showers & on our dressers...

I LOVE their peach product line, great substitution for the
discontinued Body Shop Fuzzy Peach line. OH BOY did I have
withdrawals when BShop haulted that line, but B&BW was there to save
the day!

Also ladies, Victoria Secret's LOVE SPELL line makes the men go
HMmMmMm WHO'S THAT GIRL?! *wink*

Tootles for now...

It's probably hard to find a middle ground between "not sticky enough
to peel the label off" and "not sticky enough to actually stick", but
I hope they find it. I might have to give this brand a try, Peach and
Pomegrante sounds to die for. And might make a pretty good smoothie...

Awesome letter and suggestion, Lisa.

B & BW is an Ohio company and we are fortunate to have one in just
about every mall around here, so I have a TON of it. But it's nice to
know that they at least TRY to make sure that your product arrives to
you in the condition it was shipped.

Thanks for letting us know!

Great letter, Lisa.

I hope they appreciate your suggestion. It would have never occurred
to me that there could be this problem with shipping, since I always
go down to the store and buy stuff.

BTW - Sparkling Peach and Pomegrante sounds lovely. Thanks for the
recommendation!

Good letter, good suggestion. I'm glad they're taping lids down, but
you would think they would appreciate knowing that it's damaging their
labels.
