My mother was charged $30 to restore her telephone service, but we cancelled the telephone service the day after and I asked to have the $30 fee reversed. I was told that they counldn't do that. We only have internet service, but now We're cosidering cancelling that too b/c bellsouth is not willing to reverse that fee when we don't have phone service anymore.

I would like for bellsouth to remove the $30 fee.

Bellsouth offered to waive the fee, after I told them that I was
canceling my internet service w/them b/c I was switching to Charter
communications. I told them to keep the $30, and that I was going to
send an extra .1 cent for trying to persuade me to stay with them. I'm
switching to Charter b/c they offer me a better package at a more
affordable rate.

Sounds like they already lost you if you canceled a day after having
the service restored.

That's not because of the $30 fee, thats because you changed your
mind.

Next time, make the decision BEFORE you have them re-connect.

I think she mean losing the internet business... but I question how much of a loss by Steve-Oh Sat March 22, 2008 @ 11:26 PM

You wanted the service restored and they did it. They provided a
service and as such are entitled to charge for it.

BellSouth no longer exists, they are now AT&T.

Why did you change your mind only one day after you had it installed?

After they restored her, you have the service again. Why should they
reverse that?
