Need warranty battery replacement

I purchased 2 new 2 Way Wristwatch Communicators (model #FW13Z) for my sons on 3/28. After opening and charging them for the recommended 12 hours I discovered that one of the batteries was defective (would not work in either unit although both units worked with other battery.)

I attempted to call the BellSouth technical support line listed on the instructions (1-800 418 3676) but each time I entered my model number the recording would say "This model has been discontinued" and would then move me back to the main menu.

I was never able to find a path through to an actual person who was willing to help me. I did get to sales once but the person said "thats a technical issue choose the options for tech support" and transferred me back into the IVR before I could fully explain the problem.

That is when I gave up and decided to try PlanetFeedback.

I would like a representative from BellSouth to contact me and make arrangements to ship me a new battery, free of charge.

SAME ISSUE. I just received mine today (I should have researched more
before I purchased them). One of the batteries is working alright,
but the other one isn't. Therefore, I don't even know if either units
will work since I can't test them out. Have any of you guys figured
out a way to get a new battery?

I suggest that everyone who has purchased these file a complaint with
the Better Business Bureau. The more we file, the more likely
something might get fixed.

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM OF YOU WITH THE SAME ITEMS. I HAVE BEEN
TRAYING TO CONTACT THE CUSTOMER SERVIEE REP. AND THE MENU SENT ME BACK
TO THE FIRST MENU. EVEN I CALLED THE STORE WHERE I BOUGHT THE WATCHES
COMMUNICATORS (COMPUSA) AND I TALKED TO THE SALES PARTS REP. AND THEY
DON'T HAVE THAT BATTERIES.

Even though it shouldn't be your problem to do so, is the battery
available through Radio Shack or some other electronics outfit? At
least then the communicators would at least be usable.

Also, did you buy these directly from BellSouth? If not, you might
try taking it back to the store and telling them that the one is
defective.
