For the second week in a row, apples and other produce purchased was found to be rotten when cutting into it. A bag of apples for 5 dollars and two in the bag are actual good! A pineapple purchased was near black inside even tho it felt solid and didn’t seem to be rotten. Once cut into what to do with bad produce... We are considering other stores in the area...

This is the only Bi Lo in Rock Hill SC

Hire staff that knows how to tell when something is bad and WILL take it off the shelf or close the doors!

it can't hurt to talk to them.

Although... If you yourself couldn't tell that the pineapple was bad,
I'm curious what 'training' would do to fix this.

I think it's time for you to stop buying produce there.

"Hire staff that knows how to tell when something is bad"

How can you really expect them to do this when you couldn't even do
it? And you were the one actually buying it? You even said, the
pineapple seemed to be fine.

Did you try and return it to the store? If I tried to return something
like that and they refused, I would get mad at that, but expecting
them to see through a bag or know that a pineapple that looks fine on
the outside is bad or close the store is going to be difficult.

Aren't you glad Publix has moved into that area! They have outstanding
quality all the time.

While this would be frustrating, I have to assume you looked the fruit
over and found it to be satisfactory when you purchased it right? I'm
not sure what you are expecting the salespeople to do to ensure that
bad fruit isn't sold if it is the inside of the fruit that is bad and
it's not noticeable from the outside.

As inconvenient as it may be, returning the fruit with the receipt
might be the best option. This is great feedback for the store
though, as hopefully they will look at alternative suppliers if in
fact they are having an on going issue.
