My husband has this great cold, runny nose, sore throat, the works.
He has SO KINDLY shared with me, and even though I have to teach this
morning, and have cases of scout cookies filling our living room, I
now have to do it with a runny nose and stuffed head. While I am doing
cookies today, and a 2 page paper, and a short test, and the general
weekend chores, he is going over to friends to watch the Daytona.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Why do husbands always have to share???

Baby number 5? by ~Fiナ-la-ネea~ Thu February 14, 2008 @ 5:47 PM

I am not myself today. I am happy for all the dorky letters this
weekend on PFB. My stepmom died last week, and my Gram passed last
night. She was my dads mom, and because my father and his family are
estranged I got to be the go between, which wasn't fun. After 3
strokes in 8 days, she finally passed in her sleep last night and I am
so glad. I don't want her to be in pain, and I know that we will miss
her. My sweet Sarah hugged me and said " I will miss cookies Mommy."
Every Christmas my Gram and my aunt made about 150 dozen sugar
cookies, in the most amazing shapes, decorated with colored sugars. My
favorites were the Santas with the raisin eyes and coconut beards. My
oldest made her sisters vow that when she left for school this year
she would get cookies saved. I had to make the rule several years ago
that the package couldn't be opened except by a parent, because the
UPS man delivers while I am gone, and POOF! about a dozen cookies
disappear. When my girls were little, she made them matching nighties
and underwear for Christmas every year, and my girls have the most
amazing Barbie clothes collections, because sewing was her other
forte'- and I am the only grandchild to inherit it.Thanks to all those
to sent me a msg. to boost my spirits-

What great memories you're left with! by RedheadwGlasses Mon February 11, 2008 @ 12:54 PM

Merry Christmas, Happy Kwanzaa, Merry New Year, Happy Hannakuh,
whatever you celebrate, hope that this time of year is happy and jolly
for you!
My oldest arrived home from ID last night, and we are having a huge
family dinner tonight before heading to church to hear the children
sing.
Our prayers this year include a big one to BRING THE SOLDIERS HOME and
put an end to the war- friends Cory and Chauntelle Jackson, who are
stationed in Baghdad, and whose 4 children, ages 4 through 13 are
scattered with 3 different families.
Best wishes, best wishes, and I hope that the new year brings you
much happiness and peace!

and everyone is tired and slowly coming down. We enjoyed Hannah
Montana andddd the Jonas Brothers, but didn't get home until about
11:00. I think I probably lost 5 pounds from dancing with my 7 year
old. Way worth it, and I owe a kudos to my inlaws for financing part
of last night. I don't think I have even seen 5 girls smile so much.
No complaints, other than the fact that when we got there there was a
family in our seats and I was even impressed that they had lower
priced concert t-shirts for kids. Now I get to stitch together a quick
kimono and spend the day shuffling among parties and then out with my
goblins. I can't complain.

when they're sick??? I have laundry to do, a bedroom to clean, about 5
hours worth of homework to do and baking to finish an we have a
Brownie activity from noon to 2:30. Tell me when the rest starts?

Is that not the truth ( your last line) by Bobosgirl Sat November 3, 2007 @ 1:38 AM

by Bobosgirl Posted Sun October 14, 2007 @ 2:11 PM

Okay, so recently a hostile member who "has been here a long time"
said I lied about my retail experience, and I "didn't scare her." I
think some people are way too into this site.I never set out to scare
or intimidate her, I just had a different opinion about her comment to
the letter writer.

I am a Mother of 4 girls, I am a Christian, and why in the world
would I lie about working retail? Who lies about something that silly?
I started at Best Products when I was 15. It was my first real job. I
worked there 13 months until the store location moved to Pinole,CA. I
was then hired by Sears at the Northgate mall in SanRafael,CA. I
started in loss prevention, ( one year) and then asked if I could
please work in the children's department. I worked at that location
for 3 and a half years , my managers name was Cathi Lucido. Her
husband John runs the auto service department. I transferred to the
Tigard,OR store at Washington Square Mall in 1989 and my managers name
was Amy Rice. I was there almost 2 years before I got pregnant with my
oldest daughter. I worked at Jo-Ann fabrics in Portland,OR from 1992
until May of 1993, and Hancock Fabrics in Tigard,OR on Scholls Ferry
Road from 1993 until the store closed in late 1999.Managers name is
Dave Smith. I have a gold service award from Hancocks and 2 service
awards from Sears. I worked at Chaps N Spurs in Aloha,OR ( it's a
restaurant)- owners Pete and Shelli Brown- for almost 4 years until
they closed, and I have owned my own cleaning service , MLW Cleaning
for just over 12 years.

Would someone please tell me how (NAME OMITTED) feels this is lying
about my retail experience??? Oh- I also teach Sunday School ( 25
years this year) and I am a Brownie leader of 14. I am also in my last
year of college, working on dual degrees.

I like this site because it gives me a chance to read consumer
letters, and I like to read more than comment. Some are so funny or
full of misspellings or petty that I laugh until I cry. I haven't
written any to any companies yet, but I will. I practice what I preach
in that I do not patronize Target, WalMart, or Denny's. Most of the
time I enjoy this site and the people on it.I notice that some of them
are quite profound.
