I recently had a company surprise me. A GM contacted me. He sent
me coupons for free merchandise. They sent me a twenty-five dollar
gift certificate. I didn't disclose the name of the company.
First, I was surprised to get a call from a GM that was very
concerned about his company. He offered me several apologies. I
finally told him that it was not a big deal and that he could stop
apologizing. I told him that I understand that mistakes happen.
Then, he sent me two coupons for specific merchandise.
I used the coupons for my next visit, which was great.
Surprisingly, I received a twenty-five dollar gift certificate
from the franchise itself. I was blown away. I used the certificate
upon my third visit.
I decided not to disclose the name of the establishment in my
posts. Instead, I wrote a letter directly to the company, which was
forwarded to the franchise manager. I think that it is important to
praise places that go above and beyond the call of duty to make sure
that they satisfy their customers.
By disclosing the name of companies that are so generous, I believe
would encourage scammers to have a field day with these places.
Finally, with the call, coupons and gift certificates, I was very
satisfied. I believe we should compliment companies of this caliber.
At the same time, we shouldn't publicly pronounce the generosity that
we received. We don't need to cause open season for generous companies
to be taken advantage of.

I dine out even though I know that it is dangerous.
I can remember working in fast food at Burger King. We had a cook that, if an order were returned, would sometimes spit on the burger that he had to remake! This is just plain unsanitary. I was young and didn't want to make trouble so, I just made sure that I prepared my own food. I warned my family and friends.
What bothers me is the fact that this happens a lot. If you send your food back or pose an attitude with an employee, its possible that they will just spit on your food. I try not to send my food back for this reason. I had rather eat an overcooked burger than a wad of saliva and mucus that a disgruntled employee has put in my burger. With all of the condiments it would be hard to detect the pile of crude.
I always open my burger and inspect it before eating it. I have seen what looked like spit on a burger and just threw it away in disgust. Maybe I am being paranoid.
Years ago there was a Bojangles in Durham, on N. Roxboro Rd. that was investigated and shut down because they had an anonymous employee that would defecate in the biscuit mix. The biscuits were then prepared and baked with the feces inside. Imagine a crap biscuit for breakfast? People really do this kind of thing!
I've heard of a bandage biscuit at Biscuitville.
It's possible that in a matter of years that everyone that dines out often has ingested some foreign matter.
Anyway, I would love to know PFP opinions on this subject.
