Horrible customer service

Posted Thu March 8, 2012 3:40 pm, by nicole b.

Last week my boyfriend and I flew from Ft Myers to Houston then to Dallas on United Air (Continental). This was the worst flight I ever experienced. The airline's customer service was horrible in every aspect.
First, on the flight from Ft. Myers to Houston, the flight attendants were to busy socializing in the back to take care of customers. The pilot asked everyone to keep the shades down so people could sleep but due to their loud chatting sleep wasn't possible. They also routinely hit my boyfriends arms and knees with the food/beverage cart. He was unable to avoid this since I was sitting in the middle next to an obese person who took up half of my seat.
Secondly, the employees at the Dallas airport where completely unprofessional, rude and unhelpful. All the check in machines were broken, and while other employees were standing around, only one customer was being helped, as the line quickly accumulated. Furthermore, when we tried checking in one of our bags, the employee had no change and since the machines were broken, told us to take it as a carry one but once we reached security I was told that the bag was to big, so I had to turn around, go back to the check in were the employee basically ridiculed me, saying it was not his job to tell costumers if their bag appears to be to large. It was embarrassing and made me look like a fool.
I paid to fly on United Airlines. It was completely unnecessary and frustrating to treat a customer the was I was treated. United Airlines is the most disorganized company I have flown with and their employees should learn how to treat customers better then I was treated.
Being in law school, my funds are low, but this service was so horrific I would pay more to avoid being frustrated like I was at the end of my vacation.

"The pilot asked everyone to keep the shades down so people could
sleep"

I hope he phrased it in a way that if you didn't care whether your
shade was up or down, please put it down. But otherwise, if i want my
shade up, it's staying UP.
