Sugar Free Cadbury Creme Eggs...Just a Pipe Dream?

I've been a diehard chocolate fan my entire life, and, unfortunately, I was diagnosed with type-2 diabetes not too long ago.

Now, I can still have chocolate, of course. There are some decent sugar-free varieties around. However, one of my absolute favorite chocolate creations does not come in a sugar-free version, and, while I'm not sure it could be done, I figured I'd throw the idea out there anyway.

Here goes: Sugar-free Cadbury Creme Eggs!

Yep, one of the best chocolates on the planet needs to have a sugar-free option! I know, I know. It's probably like asking for sugar-free Peeps...oh, wait. They have those!
So, you see, it's not such an impossible dream after all!

Pretty please?
With sugar (substitute) on top?

Please tell me that they heed your advice. I've had type 2 for 15
years and suffice it to say that if I eat most sugar free chocolate,
I'm better off doing it withing spitting distance of the lavatory :)
Every day-after-Easter I go and buy six or so of the caramel eggs (I
get the creme eggs if the caramel aren't available) at 50% off and
stash them in the freezer. Every so often my blood sugar will bottom
out and it's Cadbury to the rescue!!
I'm on insulin, so if I'm having a serious jones, I can always just
take a couple extra units.....

I LOVE Cadbury Eggs!

but, one cadbury egg is 170 calories :(

A sugar-free variety is a great idea!

It's a great letter and an excellent suggestion. As a fellow Type
2'er, I like the idea of more choices available. Every three months or
so, I try to plan ahead and fit in the occaisional splurge, it's not
going to make that much of a difference, and why deprive yourself?

OMG I love them! They are my fav Easter candy for the last few years.
I'm on Weight watchers so I know they are 4 pts each. I also can feel
that sugar after eating just one. A neighbor friend of mine always
sends them down after Easter to me which doesn't help lol.

They do make them tiny, not that they are sugar free but the little
ones don't give you that much sugar if you can resist eating more of
them.

I agree, it would be wonderful if they came out with a sugar free
type. Great suggestion!

Sugar-free candy is usually sweetened with sorbitol... have too much
of that (5-6 SMALL pieces of candy is enough) in a day will get
serious digestive issues. Sorbitol causes diarrhea.

Perhaps consider getting a regular Cadbury creme egg -- just one --
and just really, really savoring it.

Those things are nasty to begin with and probably would be even worse
sugar free. I think the issue is not the chocolate but that creme
inside, that is pure sugar.
