Capital One isn't #1, but it's pretty darn close. One of the top credit card issuers in the US, the company offers Visa and MasterCard plastic with a variety of annual percentage rates, credit limits, finance charges, and fees. Products range from platinum and gold cards for preferred customers to secured and unsecured cards for customers with poor or limited credit histories. The company, which boasts nearly 50 million customer accounts, also provides mortgage services, auto financing, credit insurance, and other consumer lending products. Immersing itself in the banking business, Capital One bought regional bank holding company North Fork Bancorporation in 2006. |

I had an issue today with Capital One Direct Banking.
I had scheduled an online transfer from my Capital One account to another bank last weekend. This type of transaction normally takes 3 days, which is typical of online banks. I've done this many times at the Capital One web site.
Usually I get an email a few hours after I complete the transaction and then in 3 business days, another...

I had a credit balance on my account so your company sent me a check for the amount of the credit after it stood idle for 2 months.
The amount of the check was $0.01 Yes, that is correct, your company spent $0.44 in postage plus labor and materials to refund me ONE CENT!
While I am unemployed and welcome all income, this was beyond stupid and perhaps you could use someone such as me who...

Would you had read my initial BBB complaint you would have had understood payment. Furthermore your attachments did not come through the BBB, so you should e-mail them directly to my spouse's e-mail address of XXXXXXXXX@gmail.com. This account was opened by , my mother's brother who had been living with us. I am not sure what payments you have on file but he had also opened two checking accounts...

On January 29th, 2010 I found out that there was a fraudlent charge on my Capital One credit card. I called the dispute number, in which they told me they would work on the issue. The charge was credited and Capital One was to investigate. In Feb, Capital One recharged the amount. I then called, again, at which point I have been on the phone for a few hours with the calls placed. They told...

To Whom it may concern,
I’m writing to you seeking your help. I’m in the process of trying to purchase my first home. It’s a personal dream I’ve had for quite some time. After pulling my credit report the loan officer noticed that there was a missed payments to this account back in June of 2009.
This late payment is now preventing me from realizing my dream of home ownership. I fully...
