Capital One isn't #1, but it's pretty darn close. One of the top credit card issuers in the US, the company offers Visa and MasterCard plastic with a variety of annual percentage rates, credit limits, finance charges, and fees. Products range from platinum and gold cards for preferred customers to secured and unsecured cards for customers with poor or limited credit histories. The company, which boasts nearly 50 million customer accounts, also provides mortgage services, auto financing, credit insurance, and other consumer lending products. Immersing itself in the banking business, Capital One bought regional bank holding company North Fork Bancorporation in 2006. |

Goodwill Adjustment |
by Justin B. of Louisville, Kentucky written to Capital One Financial Posted Tue March 2, 2010 9:32 am 11 replies, Last Updated: Fri March 5, 2010 1:56 pm |

I am writing to see whether Capital One would consider making a goodwill adjustment to the credit reporting bureaus on my closed account. I am asking if Capital One would remove the adverse late payments and settlement reporting from this account in reporting to the credit bureaus. I do understand this is a rather unusual request--particularly as my account fell behind upwards of 120 days. I am...

Collections Policy Not Serving Company or Investors |

Your collection policy doesn't seem to be in the best interest of your investors. It seems to be designed to put you at the end of the line of creditors, instead of an effort get in front of them.
Specifically, other CC companies will allow customers to set up auto-pay. You don't. So other companies get their payments scheduled and beat you to the money. By the time you guys call, there's no...

I was deployed by the US Army Reserve for over 15 Months to Iraq and extended. I have a car loan with Capitol One. I faxed the letter asking for a reduction under the SCRA to customer service and NEVER Recieved the reduction. I kept being passed back from customer service to another. I faxed to them with confirmations a total of five times. No action.
They play games with the customers...

Capital One,
I am writing to see whether Capital One would consider a goodwill deletion and delete the charged off account from my credit bureau reports for the credit card number
I had my Capital One since about 2004. I paid my own way through college at Northern Illinois University majoring in Electrical Engineering. I had to stop working due to the school course load, and start taking...

My roommate and I both have cards with your company. Your representatives call every day, sometimes twice and three times a day, to ask her if she wants to make a payment. She was late on one payment, and has been on time every month since then.
Additionally, your company has been given her cell phone number. Representatives always call our house number. When I tell them she isn't home,...
