Capital One isn't #1, but it's pretty darn close. One of the top credit card issuers in the US, the company offers Visa and MasterCard plastic with a variety of annual percentage rates, credit limits, finance charges, and fees. Products range from platinum and gold cards for preferred customers to secured and unsecured cards for customers with poor or limited credit histories. The company, which boasts nearly 50 million customer accounts, also provides mortgage services, auto financing, credit insurance, and other consumer lending products. Immersing itself in the banking business, Capital One bought regional bank holding company North Fork Bancorporation in 2006. |

I called Capital One regarding my statement last month I believe it was and I called I think a couple of days before the due date.
I called because I noticed the statement showed an annual fee charge and wanted to know why when I had not been charged that in the past. I pulled all of my statements and did not see one. When I called I explained to the representative what my issue was and he...

I am writing to see whether Capital One would consider making a goodwill adjustment to the credit reporting bureaus on my closed and settled accounts.
I am asking Capital One if you would, please, in good will, remove the reporting of these accounts to the credit bureaus. I understand this is a rather unusual request - particularly as my accounts fell behind and were settled for less than the...

It's about a year ago... I closed Capital one visa account, and went on a vacation in Asia. When I came back, I got a mail from Capital One, and it was a bill. About $80.00 late fee. I called. I explained that I closed the account 3 months ago and a bill's in my hand with $80.00 late fee. What they said was the account was not closed because there was one monthly charged bill through this...

Hello,
I have kept my capital one card paid up to zero balance. I forgot about the membership fee and never got a bill in the mail about it being charged on my card. I found out a couple of months later and promptly paid the balance. I got my late fee reversed but unfortunately it was report to credit bureaus as 30 days late. My score dropped from 740 to 640. I agree it is a late report but it...
