I love my card, why doesn't it love me?

I have had my capital one platinum card since 2007. It started at a $300 limit, and since then has not grown at all. I did have a slight problem with a late payment in 11/2008 but had since been in good standing. Every time I call to see if they can give me a better rate or limit I get a long winded go-nowhere response. I even applied for another platinum card and got approved for $500...not impressed. I love my capital one card and am very attached to it because they were my first card, but I and my credit score have grown up an my card is way behind. I have high utilization because of low limits.

I would be an absolute life-long card holder and refer my friends and family if capital one would make me feel less like a dang baby.

I would like to be upgraded to a better and bigger ($4-5000 limit) card. With rewards, and I would do a sizable balance transfer to it.

I would also like if they would take off the late payment blemish from 3 years ago off of all three of my reports.

I love you capital one, but please give me what I have earned from you trough loyal membership! :)

Daniel E.,

The issues you decribe with Capital One plus the two other letters you
have authored are not going in your favor because for each new credit
request, request for a limit increase or for a lower APR these
companies check your credit report. In doing so each is seeing the
other inquiries and arrive at the comclusion that the other companies
might meet your request and in doing so increase your available credit
which comes as a major concern when they do an available credit to
income calculation (ratio).

As far as your request to remove your "blemish" from 3 years ago. That
will not happen. That is important information and will be a part of
your report for 7 years.
