my complaint is this. I have been a customer for over 10 years, and always have had problems with their website not updating my account balance. with that problem they slam me with a $35 charge every-time my funds are low. So with the past experience that i have had, i always log on to their website to make sure i have enough to spend what i am about to. this past weekend they charged me $490 in over draft fees. I AM SO PISSED. Their website clearly said I had an available balance so I proceeded to spend. The plain simple fact is their website is not real time and its coming out of my pocket.

I would like my $490 in charges back ASAP.. I will make it my business to find all my friends and family that have accounts their to cancel their accounts and move over to another bank.

Maybe you should learn to keep track of your bank account. You know,
like we did before the internet. For, well, how long have we had
banking? 500-600 years? The Medici family in Italy.

And please, don't be THAT GUY who thinks he can make other people
close their own accounts, especially when your problems are your own
doing. They will laugh at you.

man it must have been chaos before the internet. How did anyone keep
track of their account without the bank holding their hand?

You will have the same issue with pretty much any bank you go to. (as
will your friends and family).

As was pointed out, they can only show what they know about. Anything
outstanding, checks that haven't reached them for example, won't be
there. So, you need to find a better way to track your money.
That's the lesson from your past experiences, and since you have had
them I'm pretty sure the bank won't be refunding any money.

The account balance you see on the website does not take into account
that you may have outstanding checks left uncashed yet, or that online
payments you scheduled have not come out yet. As giulio f stated, you
need to keep track of this for yourself in a check register or on a
piece of paper. You can then take the account balance they show and
deduct all outstanding deductions as I mentioned above...that will be
your accurate, REAL TIME balance. Without you keeping track of your
debits, checks, online payments, etc....you will contiue to be over
drawn. You also might want to check with your bank to make sure you do
NOT have overdraft protection. That way...you can not overdraw your
account. If you do have this protection...the bank will keep allowing
you to use funds you do not have and collect their $35 fee per
incident. Hope this helps....

You cannot rely on the bank to show an accurate available balance if
you have outstanding checks or payments scheduled. To avoid OD fees
you should maintain a check register.
