JPMorgan Chase was born with a silver spoon in its mouth but hasn't let that stop it. The #3 financial services firm in the US (behind Citigroup and Bank of America) expanded nationwide with the acquisition of BANK ONE and now has some 3,000 branches and growing. The bank is keen on its retail operations and is also among the nation's top mortgage lenders, automobile loan writers, and credit card issuers. Formed in 2001 by the blockbuster merger of retail banking behemoth Chase Manhattan and venerable investment bank J.P. Morgan, JPMorgan Chase boasts formidable investment banking and asset management operations as well. Wunderkind BANK ONE chief Jamie Dimon took the reins of JPMorgan Chase at the end of 2005. |

Exploitation of senior citizens' accounts at Chase |

I am writing on behalf of my mother who has a senior checking account at Chase (or the "Bank"), but isn't fluent in English.
Recently, my mother showed me her monthly statements from Chase and asked me why the Bank had been charging her $13.05 each month. As I reviewed, I realized that this amount was charged from Chase ID Protect. My mother has no use for this program at all. I asked her...

Bad Business Practices |

by Phyllis d. of Warwick, Rhode Island written to Chase Bank Posted Fri November 6, 2009 12:00 pm |

On July 4th I called your bank, and talked to a representative about my bill, which had a rebill of $49.95, plus finance charges, and late charges, which if this account received credit back. It wasn't late, and I tried to pay it before the 5th when it was due, but Beverly told me to pay the bill on the 6th because the office was closed for the weekend, and I tried to pay it online, but it...

NSF fees resulting from deposit delays due to WAMU changeover to Chase |
|
by Kimberly W. of Mesa, Arizona written to Chase Bank Posted Fri October 30, 2009 2:17 pm |

I'm a victim of the change over from Wamu to Chase Banks. In the changeover, my automatic deposits that had been sent electronically to the bank for dispersing were delayed by a few days. Strangely, my automatic payments were not delayed. With the deposit, it would have normally hit my account Friday morning and been in the account all weekend. The date for expected deposit was 10/23 and the...

"Chase"ing Customers Away |

I was a Washington Mutual customer for almost 10 years. Chase bought my bank with my tax dollars and has since provided me with nothing but terrible service and increased fees for me putting my money in their bank.
As a Washington Mutual customer I could deposit a check and receive access to the funds immediately. Chase changed this policy and did not notify its customers.
When I asked...

Earlier this week, I received a communication from Chase's credit card division. I called customer service about the contents and was not satisfied with the answers I received. I asked to speak to a supervisor, was put on hold and then told I was not allowed to do so. I would like to know what kind of company stonewalls a customer in this manner. I have NEVER before been refused access to a...
