JPMorgan Chase was born with a silver spoon in its mouth but hasn't let that stop it. The #3 financial services firm in the US (behind Citigroup and Bank of America) expanded nationwide with the acquisition of BANK ONE and now has some 3,000 branches and growing. The bank is keen on its retail operations and is also among the nation's top mortgage lenders, automobile loan writers, and credit card issuers. Formed in 2001 by the blockbuster merger of retail banking behemoth Chase Manhattan and venerable investment bank J.P. Morgan, JPMorgan Chase boasts formidable investment banking and asset management operations as well. Wunderkind BANK ONE chief Jamie Dimon took the reins of JPMorgan Chase at the end of 2005. |

Chase let me down and did not protect me from fraud |
by KARL J. of GUILFORD, Connecticut written to Chase Bank Posted Thu February 9, 2012 7:52 pm 1 replies, Last Updated: Fri February 10, 2012 1:29 pm |

On June 28th 2011 , I used my Chase Visa card to purchase an Air Conditioner on AMAZON. The Air Condition was described as new, with factory warranty, but was in reality used, non-working.I contacted the manufacturer to find out if there was a warranty and based on the serial number, the unit was four years old.
At first I attempted to contact AMAZON, and I put in an A-Z complaint and after...

Chase was my wife's credit card when they bought Washington Mutual which was Providian before. She had the account for 9 years and paid it in full in Oct 2011. just afterward the card was highjacked by the company. Chase put my nephew ( who was at the time, merely an authorized user) as the Primary card holder proceeding his bankruptcy.Chase did mention a Kansas law. However I suspect there are a...

Not Complying with the Law for applying payments against higher APR if over minimum payment is paid |
by Sheryle R. of Sandy Springs, Georgia written to Chase Bank Posted Sun October 2, 2011 8:59 am 1 replies, Last Updated: Sun October 2, 2011 6:30 pm |

The law says that if I pay more than my minium payment, it clears higher APR balances after the minimum payment is applied.
Chase is not doing this. I paid 500 dollars to my credit card account on 08/08/11, minimum payment was under 100, so it should have cleared all cash advance balances. In September I was still carrying a cash advance balance. Chase has done this to me twice...

Amazon Visa through Chase |

I applied for an Amazon Visa card through Chase back in May. It was approved, but I forgot about it when the card never showed up in the mail and I never got any statements. Unfortunately, Amazon defaults that card to the primary payment option when you're approved, and I failed to notice that change. Apparently I made one purchase with it. As soon as the delinquent account hit my credit report,...

Problem with past records haunting me- literally |

I applied for two cards with Chase this past year each time declined for the following reason: Overlimit or past due history. Naturally I pulled my credit reports and saw nothing bad- credit is great no negative info. The first decline I let go this time I decided to call to get to the bottom. Apparently I got denied because their internal records state that an account of their...
