On June 28th 2011 , I used my Chase Visa card to purchase an Air Conditioner on AMAZON. The Air Condition was described as new, with factory warranty, but was in reality used, non-working.I contacted the manufacturer to find out if there was a warranty and based on the serial number, the unit was four years old.
At first I attempted to contact AMAZON, and I put in an A-Z complaint and after eight weeks, AMAZON denied my claim.
I contacted Chase. I spent a few months filling out various forms, that Chase sent to me and faxing Chase Visa's fraud dispute division requested information. In some cases i was sending them the same information over and over again, after representatives stated that they did not have this information. I had a strong sense of clumsiness and lack of organization when contacting Chase.
Chase advised me to package up the unit and ship it back to the seller. I complied, and I faxed over proof of delivery, back to the seller,to Chase.
Recently, Chase found in favor of the seller. AMAZON. I thought that using a credit card gave me some buyer protection. Chase strung me along for many months then re-billed me. I contacted Chase and they told me they might have had an internal "MISSCOMMUNICATION". The representative said that despite my returning the Air Conditioner. There was no way to re-open the case. I was told that mistakes happen. No apology and very cold communication.
I want my account credited for the full amount of $ 327.87 . I relied on Chase to protect me and they failed to properly investigate my claim. i did not authorize payment for a USED nonworking air-conditioner. I did authorize payment for a new air conditioner with a factory warranty, as described on AMAZON.
