Please take my money chase

Posted Tue July 1, 2008 6:34 pm, by Emma D. written to Chase Credit Cards

I have my credit card set up to regularly withdraw $100 from my bank on the first. I usually set up other payments to meet the minimum payment due (or sometimes more depending on the amount I can afford). I got paid Friday and went in to set up the remainder of the balance due $43.58 to come out today. I didn't think this would be an issue as my due date is the third. Well apparently, Chase will only allow you to make one payment in a three-day period. Which means that I cannot bring the account current until the forth when Chase will charge me a $40 fee for late payment. While I understand that I waited until the last minute to make this payment (or three days before the last minute), there should be some way of getting around this arbitrary rule. I called customer services and was told the same thing. I did ask Jennifer, the women at customer service, to at least make a note that I did call so I might be able to get the late fee waived but who knows what that will do.

My suggestion is to allow an override of such a policy. I want to pay Chase; I am trying everything I can think of to get the money to them on time.

Unfortunately I find, from my experience with Chase, that their
payment programs are designed in such a way that produce a lot of late
payments so they can make money off from late fees. By the way, Chase
Auto Loan is much worse than Chase Credit Card.
