Bad Experience
Posted Mon August 6, 2012 1:33 pm, by Rob A. written to Cheddars Restaurant
My family and I visited the Cheddars Restaurant, Midwest City, Oklahoma location for the first time July 21, 2012 after the restaurant location coming highly recommended by a co-worker. Our experience was not a good one. First of all, we sat for about five minutes before a waitress finally came to the table with no apologies for the long wait, no introduction, just proceeded with business as usual. We ordered our drinks which took forever to come, then proceeded to order dinner without being asked if we would like to order an appetizer first. Dinner came, the food tasted good but the service was awful. During the course of dinner, our drinks were constantly empty, the waitress was missing, we actually had to stop another waitress passing by to get extra things needed, steak sauce, refills etc. When the waitress finally returned, she made excuses about the bar was making the drinks (which were non alcoholic) and they were to blame for the delay. Really? We spoke with the manager who to our surprise was very indifferent about the whole situation, just stated he would refill our drinks, we were appalled to say the least. No apologies for the horrible service, NOTHING but a blank stare! We then understood why the service and staff were inadequate. One last thing, when we arrived home and looked over the receipt, we realized we had been charged for an extra drink. Not a really big deal, but considering the situation, that was a lot of nerve. We figured the waitress intentionally did that to ensure she would receive some type of tip. WOW, just wow!
We would like Cheddars to at lest acknowldege our complaint and LISTEN to what we experienced instead of ignoring it. It is paying customers who keep businesses in business.
