I was in Chili's in Mesquite, TX with my out of town family this past Sunday. The waiter was not all there and the food quality was not great.
I ordered and ice tea and 20 minutes (yes! 20 minutes after I ordered it!)later it and the rest of our drinks finally arrived. When I asked our server what took so long, he told me he'd been busy. Okay, not a good answer, but I overlooked it. Then I tasted my tea- it was skunky, like the tea bags were moldy. I sent it back and he brought me another one with the same skunky taste. I told him that the 2nd tea tasted the same way and he actually asked me if I was going to be a difficult customer! I was shocked! He finally brought me a water.
Our food arrives and I noticed that my chicken tacos had quacamole on them. I had specifically ordered them WITHOUT guacamole, as I am alergic to avacados. When I pointed this out to my server, he rolled his eyes at me and took my knife and scraped the guacamole off! Um, no, I was not ok with that. I politely asked him to take it back and bring me a new order of chicken tacos. When I finally do get a new order, long after everyone else has already finnished eating, the chicken in one of my tacos was still partially raw. By this point, I was pretty ticked and asked for a manager. Our great server disappeared for several minutes then came back and said the manager was on break and couldn't help us. I was livid. I told him I wanted my tacos removed from the bill and he refused.
I will never eat at this location again. I cannot believe the servers this it is acceptable to treat customers like this.
I feel that I am owed an apology at the least, and that perhaps Chili's need to spend some time retraining some of their staff.

all i have to say is OMG!!! Well for one the Chicken tacos dont come with guacamole actually on it, they usually plop a scoop on the side. And second he was probably a dum-arse and grabbed someone elses plate of food for another table. Chicken takes about 8-10 minutes to cook, and he could have very well "refired the ticket" so that his would come up before everyone elses ticket. MAnagers dont take breaks. They worka full shift, now depending on what shift it is lunch or dinner, a manager may opt to order food and sit down and have something but they're still on the clock adn still the manager. I HOPE to God you kept your receipt and called the next day to speak with the general manager. I would have spoken to them , and then maybe even call the area director who takes care of that store and is that general managers manager. CHicken Tacos are my absolute FAVE item on the menu and i've been working at CHilis in Orland Park, IL and now another location in Illinois and it really hurts me to know that stores in TEexas are doing such poor service..condsidering thats where chilis originated from and thats where the Owner of our corp. lives. Ice Tea can sometimes be skunky if it was left oevr from the night before and/or the tea container had not been cleaned out and so the moldy tea stays in the lines. There are times when i admit i forget I have a table, i forgot their drinks , forgot to drop off silverware or i forget to put in their food order(not all the same day or same table) But it happens, and i admit i'm only human, but this guy. was just completly rude, ignorant and i hope he no longer works for our company.

At the very least, you sound like a difficult customer, and I don't believe you were polite at any point during your visit to the restaurant.

Yeah once you asked for the manager he panicked which is why he never got one for you. You gave him too much control though that way. You could have asserted yourself and gotten one without him having that control. Obviously he knew he was guilty and didn't want to get caught. The iced tea, well that was one thing but the food allergy and him not taking that seriously, that's another story. Plus the remark was uncalled for. He could have thought it without saying it. That's just asking for trouble.

I get the feeling you're exaggerating somewhat, but it does sound like a pretty rotten experience and I hope you get a response. My only suggestion would be to keep your tenses straight ("I ordered food, the food arrives - should be ALL past tense). I also don't understand why you didn't ask for a manager if the waiter was as surly as you claim (which, again, I seriously doubt).
As everyone will tell you here. The time for action is while you're there. I do hope you get a response, but strongly feel you should have asserted yourself at the time.
