Great service at Chilli's!

I have a compliment and an opinion about the local Chilli's I went to.

My husband and I received a Chilli's gift card from his brother for Christmas. We went to the local Chilli's off Highway 35 and William Cannon, next door to Macaroni Grille. It was approximately 7:00pm when we arrived and the date was 12/16.

When we went inside, there was absolutely no wait, which is fantastic for a Saturday. We were seated promptly and were greeting by our server, Richard. He was very friendly and very energetic. My husband and I ordered our drinks and appetizer, and then looked over the menu. Our drinks and appetizer came in an orderly fashion, and this was the first time in a long time that we received a side of Ranch dressing with our appetizer and not having to remind our server of it. We were both impressed.

We both ordered the Baby Back Bonus and chose our flavor of ribs. I chose the Carolina, hubby took Kentucky Bourbon. When we received our order, we began to dig in. The Carolina sauce was ok, it had a fishy taste to it. I was not impressed, but I thought that maybe it was just me. I saved the ribs to eat for lunch the next day, and we ordered dessert. We finished our dessert, paid and left.

I was very impressed with our waiter, Richard. He was attentive, nice and very energetic to help us and others around him. He was quite comical, and he made the experience very enjoyable. I had a bad experience at Chilli's a couple of years back, but this made it go away.

Now, onto the opinion. The Kentucky Bourbon sauce was VERY good. But the Carolina sauce does have a very fishy taste to it. I tried something new, wasn't impressed, but thats bound to happen when you try something new.

I just wanted Chilli's to know that while the food was OK, the entire meal was a good experience with the help of the waiter. I'd like for him to be commended for his good service.

I was wanting to go back because we had another gift card for Chilli's...come to find out it burned down. :( I hope everyone at that Chilli's gets stationed elsewhere! I particularly liked how you pointed out that you tried something new, didn't like it, but wanted to share you opinion. And kudos for giving Richard the props he deserves as a waiter! My only suggestion would be to perhaps follow up with a phone call directly to the restuarant. I'd hate to see a nice letter like this get lost in the shuffle, and for Richard to not see these kind words.
