Angry About Disconnection Fee

I actually switched to AT&T because of poor customer service with Verizon. I was then forced to switch back for the same reason. My Iphone was stolen and they would not give me any kind of deal on a new phone. They wanted me to purchase the phone at the new price of $400+ regardless of whether I agreed to extend my contract. I am now going to be forced to pay a disconnection fee even though they did not provide me with the tools needed to continue my contract. Even Verizon allowed me to waive this fee when a similar situation occurred. I loved my iPhone and my initial experience with AT&T, but I will no longer recommend anyone to this company. I paid my final bill but $135 to cancel a contract because I no longer have a phone is ridiculous and criminal in my opinion.

Waive my fee. I would have liked to see them discount the iPhone when I had my stolen as I would have gladly continued service with them even though I did drop quite a few calls. I bought an Ipod Touch now though so there is no reason for me to have an iPhone as it does the same thing for much less money.

I don't understand why you expect them to cut you a deal on a phone,
when the reason you needed one was through no fault of AT&T. With
that rationalization, anyone who wants a new phone can just claim it's
stolen, then Bam! They get a new phone!

Why should they give you a deal on a new phone? Your phone was stolen.
That's not their fault. It's not yours either, but why should they
take a loss because your phone was stolen. Did you have insurance on
the phone?
