Circuit City Lincoln Nebraska, Poor and offending Management of Store

Please close out the credit account that I just opened yesterday March 4th, 2008. I was going to buy a Sony Bravia 40" XBR TV and Blu Ray DVD player and Surround Sound System.

When I got up to the Lincoln Nebraska Store, the man in the TV section was not helpful at all. Would not match the price of the online Circuit City price, because he said he did not have to. I asked him to get the manager and he said the manager will tell you the same thing.

I came home empty handed. I called up today to talk with the Store Manager, I was told so many different stories that he was at lunch, in a meeting, gone, then finally the so called assistant manager got on the phone.

I started calling at 11:30 am and finally got to speak with the so called assistant manager at 4:15pm. I always left my name and what I was calling about. I know I was being ignored.

I have bought many things from Circuit Ciy in the past, but no more. I want you to close the new account I just opened yesterday and that will complete our dealings with Circuit City.

The so called assistant manager also said he did not believe any of HIS associates would not have looked on the computer for the Circuit City online price.

I told him, if this associate had, I would have gone home with TV, Blu ray DVD Player and Surround System for over 4500.00.

I also told him since I had to drive 100 miles round trip and came home empty handed I was not happy. He seemed to not care about that or customer satisfaction either one.

Only after I told him how disappointed I was he then asked what do you want me to do?

Now how is that for an answer from an assistant manager. I told him that he could give me the price of the TV that was the online price on Circuit City.com, and reimburse me with discounts on other items or a gift card to make up for the Gas (100 miles round trip) I had to use to make one trip for nothing and get lousy service. He said no.

I am more than happy to let you in on a little secret, you have competition in Lincoln Nebraska that was more than happy to beat your Lincoln Nebraska Store Price and gain my confidence. You lost 4789.00 in sales yesterday, and they gained it today. They even threw in a couple of movies.

Since they are very competitive, and great store, I guess your helpful associates at your Lincoln Nebraska Store, including manager and assistant manager will be driving more your customers over to the competition.

Thank you for reading this email. Again close out my account, as with the service being so bad, I do not even want to go back into that store.

As for Circuit City taking their sales associates word over the customers, they sure train them wrong. Thanks again.

I look forward to dealing with your competition, since your store employees are just plain lazy, under trained, or ignorant.

I would like to see Circuit City close their doors. Poor customer service equals no sales. Hopefully their competition is thriving on their ignorance and poor attitude.

They should have matched their own website. I match online prices all
the time for TVs it just can't say "online special" or "online only"
But the price that is matched is what price comes up when it is looked
up by an associate. The only time a price isn't matched is when the
price match will take the cost of the TV below store cost.

To close your account you're going to have to contact Chase at
1-800-937-1294. Just keep dialing 0 til it connects you to a live
person. (Dial it once after each prompt)

I'm glad I don't work with that employee, he would get a chewing out
from me.

And managers are hard to get a hold of in my store also, no matter
what you're calling about.

Most brick and mortar stores do not match online pricing. If you
wanted the online price, you should have ordered it online.

Gino, re-read his letter. He was demanding they match the price listed
on their own website, which most stores don't do as they usually
consider such things to be "online specials". OP either didn't bother
to read the fine print or decided the rules didn't apply to him.
However, since he ended up getting what he wanted and appears quite
satisfied, I guess alls well that ends well! :-)

Thanks, I totally missed that by Gino Wed March 5, 2008 @ 10:01 PM

Technically, you got them where you want them. According to their
price match policy, if you find the same product for less at another
store within 30 days, bring in the competitors ad along with the
receipt, and they'll beat it by 10 percent!
