Dear Ms. Martinez,

My husband and I have banked with Citibank since August of 2003, that is a little over 4 years. We have several accounts and have been considering transferring our business account to Citibank. Throughout out business relationship with you, we have honored our agreements with you to the fullest extent. We both appreciate the great service and products we have always received from your company.

About 2 months ago, I changed the email address on one of the accounts in order to better manage all of our accounts. We stopped using this account and I did not realize a payment was scheduled through paypal to come out of the account. Unfortunately, due to a illness, I did not check in on the account for over a month and did not realize I was no longer receiving the statements via the new email address. Therefore, I did not realize the payment went through and activated the checking plus. Consequently, I was 30 days late to pay the checking plus amount of $114. As soon as I realized I owed on the Checking Plus, I transfered the money right away, in addition to extra funds to make sure I never have the same problem again.

I understand why Citibank reported the 30 day late payment to the credit bureaus. I am grateful for the positive relationship we have experienced with Citibank. However, this 30 day late payment is causing us great stress. Our business provides low income housing for individuals in need. This business is linked to our personal credit and this 30 day late mark has significantly hindered our ability purchase more homes.

I would be very appreciative if you would send a request to the credit bureaus to remove this entry as a goodwill gesture for us. The credit bureaus advised me that they will report anything they are instructed to but they need the order in writing and directly from Citibank. I plead that you may help me and take into consideration how good of a customer I have been and will continue to be. I love Citibank and appreciate anything you could do for my husband and I regarding this unfortunate situation. Thank you in advance for your time. Have a great day!

Sincerely,

Citibank NA is awesome. They followed up with a letter and after an
investigation decided as a courtesy to stop reporting the 30-day late
payment. No complaints from me. They were very nice and understanding
about the situation. EVERYONE open up accounts at Citibank!

As of October 9, 2007, I have not received a response from Citibank
regarding this matter. I am still hopeful!

yes they do that Banks & credit cards. You might want to start paying
all your bills online. Sometimes
the post office plays around with your mail. You can pay online or
through the phone or with internet bank bill pay. No one mail in
there

Wrong yet again, TD but nice track record you're making for yourself by RedheadWGlasses Thu October 4, 2007 @ 12:56 PM

Good, polite letter. But I am having trouble believing that one
30-day late payment is affecting your business to the degree that you
claim. There absolutely must be other black marks on your credit
report.
