I just applied for the Citi Simplicity credit card and was told online it requires further processing, this usually means denial. My Fico is good at 661. I did my research and others whom have applied with lower scores and worse credit to debt ratios than mine were approved. I am appalled, I want an explanation.
Look and my report. I always pay my bills on time and usually double the minimum payment. My debt to credit ratio is good, and I am at a medium low risk now. Many have been paid off then charged on again and paid off. I have an excellent career and earn a good salary. I have 3 major credit cards in good standing with limits totaling around $3000., 1 major jewelers card in excellent standing with a limit above $7000.
I want a Citi Visa approval, and based my 661 credit score, I should receive $3000-$4500 in credit. I want the Citi Simplicity card. I want an explanation, or another card offer thats suitable in comparison. Those I have spoken with who have used Citi for years are happy with them, I just wanted the same experience.
Regards,
N.

Umm obviously you're asking for money you don't have nor need because you keep getting credit cards and you're trying to open up too many accounts. Save ya money and buy it in full or let one of those other credit cards go and close it cause you're asking for too much!

I was denied for a Citi Simplicity card and a Citi Forward card, so I understand your frustration. My credit score was 669. I wrote to Citi through PlanetFeedback a month ago and didn't hear back, so a few days ago I sent a letter to the Office of the President in Sioux Falls, because I've read that people have had luck getting a response from them. All this being said, I don't think there should have been so many "I wants" in your letter - it sounds like a kid in a toy store. Citi doesn't owe anyone a credit card, and they won't give it to you just because you tell them you want one. You need to persuade them to reconsider. Something along the lines of "I'd appreciate the reconsideration of your denial for the following reasons...." and then list the reasons. At any rate, I hope you post any response you get from them and I hope you have better luck than I did.

No more credit! It will come back to haunt you when least expected.Pay off what you have.

of $10,000. No offense, but you don't need another credit card. You need less. I'm guessing your combined amounts owing are in the high thousands. Not a great way to live.

If it's any consolation, you're really not missing anything by not having a Citi card. I've had one of their cards for years, and though I usually pay the balance in full each month and have a very high credit limit (that I didn't ask for), they continually deny or hold up charges due to "suspected fraud". I once had my card suspended because I charged gas in three different states in one day, driving home to visit my mother. In no way should these have been suspicious transactions that triggered a fraud alert; I had made the exact same trip at least 10 times that year.
Also, it seems that a lot of creditworthy people are being denied credit nowadays. One reason, I think is that banks are like spoiled and frustrated children. They lose money in the markets through their own risky betting, and take it out on consumers.

I don't think you know what "acronym" means and I don't think you know that 661 is a low credit score.

661 is just a "good" FICO - not great. If you want to demand approval, you need to get that up over 700-730

Someone doesn't know what an acronym is... Or what further processing means.
It doesn't always mean denied. Sometimes it means just that, further processing. There was a piece of data they couldn't verify immediately and the will further process and verify.
As for your explanation, you'll get it after they've gone through the further processing.

Exactly how did you do your research?
Did you talk to other people *who had lower scores & worse credit to debt ratios than yours were approved for the Citi Simplicity card*, who told you that they received that credit card?
Did you find this information on the internet?
What is the website address?
