No DUST COVER!

Posted Sun August 7, 2011 3:14 am, by Teresa L. written to Coach, Inc. - Accessories and Handbags

Write a Letter to this Company

I was in a coach factory store this week and made my first coach purchase! While I was extremely excited about my great find, it was short lived when I took the tissue out of my shiny new coach bag to find there was no dust cover! So today I call the store back which is in Gaffney SC, to find out that they do not include the dust cover! :( I also purchased a wristlet, which came with a dust cover, so what is the difference?! I paid good money for this handbag only to be disappointed to find no dust cover. If all of the bags have dust covers when they are in the retail stores what happens to the dust cover when the bag is sent to the factory store? If it is included in the retail store why isnt it included at the factory store? Is there something wrong with the bags at the outlet stores and they dont deserve a dust cover? I am seriously considering taking this bag back because of this. It may sound like a small thing, but it is very important to me as I like to protect and take care of my expensive handbags.

I would like ALL coach bags to be treated equally now and forever....whether they are in a factory store or the most expensive retail store in the world, a coach is a coach is a coach, isnt it? We as consumers want to receive what we are due, I dont think that is too much to ask. I want my dust cover!!!!!

Dust Covers are used to protect purses when have been put away for a
given season.

I do not own many purses, but I do have a few Coach bags in different
colors. Each color is used at different times of the year. And they
coordinate with matching wallets. Having to invest in a quality
product is a sacrifice for me. However, it is something I'm willing
to do for myself and I like to take care of the purses so that they
last for years.

Most people that collect high quality purses use one or two colors
per
season. The idea is that your investment will not get scratched or
dirty while in the back of a closet.

Most 'high end' purse manufacturers provide a dust cover. It is a
gamble to find a purse with a dust cover at a factory or outlet store
(some come with while others do not). My mother has worked for Coach
for 18 years. The factory packs the dust covers with each differently
sized purse. Sometimes, when a purse does not sell before the new
season, it goes to the outlet or factory store. I do not know if the
store forgets to pack the covers, or if they somehow get lost
somewhere in transit, but they purses USUALLY do not arrive with
their
coordinating dust covers.

Hope that helps to clear up any misguided (although, understandable)
comments and dispersions about dust covers. Frankly, I prefer to have
one well make black purse by Coach than countless other by any other
manufacturer. I never by cloth, because then I think you are all
about "status". My first leather Coach was given to me by my mom 28
years ago. It is a cognac colored tote that is still beautiful.

Be well.

That's why many women are shopping at www.miacotone.com for dust
covers. They want to protect their investment! I bought my purse dust
covers from them and they are excellent quality! Good Luck!

I have several Coach purses. Some come with the dust cover, some do
not. It has nothing to do with the location. Just the whether or not
the purse style comes with one. I've bought plenty at the outlet
store that do have a dust cover.

Your purse has a dust cover! Do you put the handbag in it at night? I
sort of understand wanting wanting a "Coach" purse for status but if
this is all you have to worry about ..... To much work for me. I'll
keep my Liz Claiborne purse and not put it to bed.

I've bought several bags as well from the coach retail stores. Some
came with the covers and some did not. Not sure why this is and really
never gave it much thought.

I think the leather bags come with a dust cover, but the canvas/cloth
ones do not.

The last Coach bag I bought--at an actual Coach store--did not come
with a dust cover,

The $75 motorcycle helmet I bought the same say DID come with a dust
cover.

Go figure, LOL.

I own three coach bags and only one came with a dust cover. I have no
clue if/when thy are standard.

you're "due" a dust cover? I've owned a coach purse (bought at a
department store) and I worked in that same department store, and
never, ever have heard of a "dust cover" for a purse.

A quick google easily proves that they are NOT standard for Coach
purses.

I suggest you return the purse and end your anguish already.

Dust Covers for Expensive Purses by Christine J. Thu December 8, 2011 @ 11:21 AM

Did they advertise the item as coming with a dust cover?

If yes then you are owed on. If no, then you can perhaps buy one....
but companies are not obliged to give out items for free unless they
specify that it's part of the package.

Put it in a walmart bag, that should keep the dust off it.

I was under the impression that the items sold at these stores were
ones with imperfections of some sort. If it is a mess up, I can see
them not manufacturing a dust cover to go with it.

Factory stores... not specifically but it's more likely by PepperElf Mon August 8, 2011 @ 6:06 PM

No, not all Coach bags are equal. While some of the bags in the outlet
stores are retail-quality and overstocks, a lot of them are made just
for the outlet stores and were never sold at the retail stores. No
dust covers for the also-rans!!
