My wife and I purchased a condominium in Coral Gables,Florida and commute their fairly often. My wife who has restless leg syndrome and is very anxious about flying and I boarded flight#CO 638W scheduled to leave 7:50 PM on February 12 from Newark International Airport to Miami.I left 2 hours early, braved rush hour traffic, and arrived at the gate on time after being told by Continental that the flight would be leaving on time.My wife and I boarded the plane around 7:30PM.We sat in the plane on the ground for 4 1/2 hours and only received water. My wife and I are very upset and have soured on flying with you.We have a Chase Continental credit card.I am grateful to the pilot whose skill was fantastic. However,he should have kept us better informed about the delays.I feel that your operators should have notified us to come in later. The airline should have accommodated us better once we were stuck on the plane.

I feel Continental should more truthful when there are scheduling problems.I feel some type of compensation should be meted out.

the scheduled flight time. Airlines don't generally schedule delays.
That being said, they could not tell you to come in later. They
really have no way of telling if it will take 5 minutes or 4.5hrs (or
more) to correct the problem.
I agee that they could have offered you some sort of compensation...
say a light snack of some sort.

Congratulations on the purchase of a condo in Coral Gables, Florida. I
love fFlorida a lot myself, and you made an excellent decision. Time
shares and hotels aren't much of an investment.

I don't know what the health issues and the traffic and time it took
to get to the airport have to do with anything. How about the traffic
from Miami to Coral Gables? Why wasn't that included?

Aren't these common things people in general have to deal with on a
daily basis anyway?

How long does it take to get from Newark New Jersey to Miami? Do they
serve meals on short flights these days?

It's fair to surmise waits in general will occur, especially now that
it takes so much more time to process flights due to harsher
regualtions. The best approach would be to carry extra medicines and
snacks on your person just in case the delays are longer.

What was the problem that prevented the plane from taking off? Was it
mechanical failure, weather, something else?
