You would think that a nationwide pharmacy chain would have links to each of their stores, where a person can get their yearly Rx print out...WRONG...I do not always use the same location in pickup Rx...They want me to go to all the locations to pick up the statements...Then when I called Corporate to request, they stated that they can mail it...Well I need it now, for tax purposes...If I had known that, I would have started getting the info before now, when it's time to do taxes...The people at their privacy dept was rude and non caring, they wanted me to verify our address, when I did she states that's not what she has on file...I advised her we have moved 2years now and I don't rememeber the address...I told her that I gave the store the new address when we moved...It's not fault that they did not update it in their system...I for one am going to have our pharmacy changed to Walgreens...per their advertisements, they have nation wide links...
NOTHING...I'm changing pharmacies...

Due to HIPAA laws each store is only able to print out what you recieved from each individual store. We are linked, but not for that information. They are asking for your information to verify that they are giving it to YOU, not someone pretending to be you. If they mail it to you, it will take something like three days, is that really going to upset your taxes that are due on April 15th? NO! Get a life.

And my ex had no problem getting his scripts on vacation in Florida, leading me to believe they ARE linked.
Granted, I didn't need a print out of my activity, but when we did get that at our local store, the script that was filled in Sarasota DID show up on the list.
As others have mentioned, the only problem I can figure is that maybe it had to do with you being unable to come up with your former address and they saw that as a security issue.
HOWEVER, your comment about them apparently not changing it in the system not being your fault is incorrect. If you were getting scripts all this time, did you NOT notice the address on every bottle was incorrect?
Being unable to come up with a former address is a sure way to make them suspicious and HIPPA laws require pharmacies to be able to identify who they are providing information to.
I guess its better that you are switching to Walgreens, Desiree, but I would suggest writing down your addresses, current and former, just in case you ever need them again in the future.

A reasonable request in my estimation, but it seems you were a bit terse with their privacy department.
I'm sorry you're furious, but what worries me is you moved two years ago and can't remember your address. That alone would raise red flags for the company to not help, because they can't be sure who their talking to is the real person.
Maybe find your old address, calm down, and start over. You might be surprised how quickly they can respond.

Why would you be so furious about this? You seem furious about a lot of stuff.
Anyway, you don't need the info NOW, you need it in the next couple of months. And getting it before about a month ago probably wouldn't have done you much good -- you'd still be waiting for your W2s.

Working for Walgreens I just assumed that our biggest competitor would have the same type of links. Just this past week we had a customer that asked for the same type of information that you wanted. This customer was concerned because they had a prescription filled at the Walgreens in Hawaii in December. But this was no problem. EVERY store is linked.
