In to-days Sunday paper you advertised your CVS Spectravite vitamins at buy one,get one so I made a point of going by my usual CVS to get four bottles to share with my daughter. We use the Spectravite Cardio Health vitamin. But it was really no surprise when there was only ONE bottle on the shelf!! The clerk looked in the storage room but found no other. Later to-day I went by another CVS and it was the same thing. ONLY ONE BOTTLE on the shelf!! This is really nothing new since the same thing happened during the sale a couple months ago, each store had one bottle and one of these stores was your new ones grand opening!!Whats going on? Is this the old bait and switch??? I am a loyal customer to CVS but really this is too cut and dried to be a coincidence!!I might expect this of some companies but not my CVS. I trust you with my prescriptions. Need I say more??
If you are going to advertise please let it be honest.I am a senior citizen, almost 80 yrs, and I depend on you and I love my pharmacist. They are so kind and caring.

Being that I work in a pharmacy, whenever vitamins go on "buy one get one free" sale, they sell like hot cakes. They're usually gone by the middle of the week and it's not uncommon for the other stores in the area to be out as well because people will drive to the nearest location should one store be out of them. Next time this happens, you should ask to speak to the manager to see if he/she will sell you the one bottle for a cheaper price and/or ask for a rain check.

just got busted for selling expired items. You may have been better off not purchasing what would have been a few months' supply of vitamins there :)

Having worked in retail for over 20 years I can tell you that the Sunday ads are made up weeks or even months in advance. Sometimes the manufacturer doesn't send enough (or any) product for the sale. These things happen sometimes. You should have talked to the manager and they could have told you when the next delivery was scheduled. I don't know if CVS offers rainchecks but you could have asked.

are expensive, so it is possible that when they go on sale for 50% off, the bottles disappear quickly.
This isn't bait and switch at all. That is a different concept.

it's not.
they had the item, it was even there when you showed up.... they just didn't have enough to cover what you wanted.
Since you wanted 4 bottles, I am sure that many other customers also wanted 4 bottles and took them.
Heck, if 10 people came in all wanting at least 4 bottles... that's a minimum of 40 being purchased.
besides... you really shouldn't be buying vitamins in bulk like that. they have an expiration date and the chance that you go through all 4 bottles before they expire is rather slim.

Could you have gotten a rain check? Did anyone offer to find out when more would be in? Hopefully they can give you a raincheck and you can purchase your vitamins at the sale price when more come in.
