I have been a Card holder since 1987 and I was charged a late Fee. This is what happen for years I have received mailed statements and a few months ago I signed up for paperless and I would receive a E-Mail notification to go to their web site to receive my statement and I guess I missed the E-Mail so Today I called to ask for forgiveness for the late Fee because I cannot recall in all the years of having this account ever being late and I was informed by Discover card Supervisor Tonya that they checked and they did their part by sending the E-Mail and it was my fault I explained to her that the Notification doesn't stand out and I missed it and I informed her I have been a card holder since 1987 she then stated she would forgive half the charged late fee II thanked her for that but I believe they design their systems to help them collect more late fees then to try and help Customers avoid fees

Full refund of the Late Charge.

If you have been a card holder since 1987, I think you would have some
idea of when your bill was due. You say you "guessed I missed the
email" and that it did not "stand out." Did you receive the email and
overlook it? If so, I am baffled as to why it would be Discover's
fault? Even if you DID NOT receive an email, and as time got closer
to the due date of your bill, you still could have logged on to the
website to check your bill, right?

I receive a paper bill from Capital One, and they also email me when
my statement is ready to view on their site and the email is always
very clear about who it is from and what it is about--Capital One,
"your statement is now ready for viewing" or something like that.
