Dish Network plays billing games

I had an account with dish network that I paid in full for the year from February to January. In November I got a notice that my account was past due. Of course I called because I should be paid until January. I was told that I was accessed a new charge as of May for not having my receiver attached to a phone line (which was not attached when THEY set up the receiver). I told them that I was never notified of this new charge and being that I was paid in full I would appreciate them waving the fees including late charges. They said if I paid all past due charges the would credit my account in future months. This was not acceptable. I canceled the account and sent them all the equipment back. Several employees have admitted it was a mistake and that it happens to customers all the time. I expected that the credit they owed me would close the account. However, it was just charged to my credit report. I went ahead and paid them because I have to keep my report clean but they have not cleared my report and I can't get them to send my anything saying it has been taken care of. I have called every day in the last week and all I am told is that all my accounts are paid, there shouldn't be anything on my credit report. I am considering a law suit.

Clear my credit report today and send me notification of such.

I'm completely on your side. IN fact, the fact that you prepaid for a
whole year (!) means that, at the VERY LEAST, They should have
contacted you in May regarding the technical/billing issue and given
you a chance to rectify it with no charges.

Good luck!
