WHY

Why do I have to pay for 100 sports channels when I DO NOT LIKE or WATCH baseball, football, basketball,golf,hocky......
Why can't someone like me substitute sports for other channels like DIY,SUNDANCE,BIOGRAPHY,NTGEO...?
I feel like i'm getting abused having to pay for channels I don't use.
I would like an answer and at least some consideration for this suggestion.

It is your choice to pay for the package. Unless they have one that is
customizable, then I think you are stuck with whichever channel
packages they offer. If you are not satisfied, make the choice to
cancel and choose another provider that has the channels you want.
There are other options out there for TV service than just Dish
Network. Speak with your wallet!

You can always protest by cancelling.

In order to show a specific network, your provider has to have a
contract with them.

With enough people asking for the channels they might do it, but...
the contract will cost them money (sometimes to the tune of over a
million, and no I'm not joking), so unless they have enough people
wanting those channels they probably won't show them.

And yeah, I'm not joking about the price tag. there was a fight
between the cable company and a local prime time network last year
where some of my friends live. the cable company ended up forking
over a million over to the local network.
