When I had put the account on hold for a couple of weeks, paying only $5.00/month, I tried to return to the same program package, however, I have been forced to subscribe to more German/European Programs, I didn't care about. However, I tried it for a while, and today, much to my surprise, I received an invoice in SPANISH, which I can't read. I have been with DISH for several years, and I indeed din't change my my German and English language skills to only SPANISH! Called Customer Service, and the Philapina didn't seem to believe me and was unable to inform me. why I received a SPANISH invoice on 5/24/10, while the due date is only two weeks, June 9, 2010. Do I have to hire a translator or do you swend me another bill? Customer Service didn't offer to send me an English invoice. I also put you on notice that should I receive more SPANISH invoices, we definetely will cancel your vdeery expensive service.
It's a disgrace, that Dish Network mails out SPANISH invoices to Germans, who also are proficient in the English language. I assume that this company relies on SPANISH speaking customers more than legal immigrants to to the US.
Before I pay the invoice, I do expect an English invoice, since I am unable to read or speak the Spanish language. Somebody at a offshore location had made the mistake, and for my troubles, I should receive a minimum credit on my account.
I also have tried to call its Executive Office in Colorado, only to have a difficult time to get through to the right persons.

By the way, I happen to speak Spanish, I happened to be born in the United States, and have lived here all my life. I can provide proof of U.S. birth and life-long citizenship to any job I apply to without a problem, even though I speak Spanish. After all, I am a Spanish speaking legal citizen, but English is my first language!:)

If you received bills in German, would that mean they rely on German speaking customers more than legal immigrants in the United States?

Are the charges way different the they normally are from month to month? I know my cable bill is the same everytime. If the charges are the same I would go ahead and pay it as to avoid late charges. If they are different, is there a way to view the bill online so you can get it taken care of while you wait for the english version of the bill?
Sounds as though it was just some sort of mix up.

1. I love that an immigrant is all riled up about other different kinds of immigrants.
2. "Customer Service didn't offer to send me an English invoice." Did you ask?

i would recommend the following
1) for now, see if you can get it translated for you.
Yes you're upset, but it would be better to get the bill paid, instead of running the risk of late fees.
2) continue trying to contact them
http://www.dishnetwork.com/customerservice/contactus/default.aspx
This way you can hopefully get the bill worked out, and in a language that you can understand, without running the risk of any additional issues.
good luck!

I agree with Bobosgirl below: while the invoice may state a total dollar amount, the LW needs to see the individual charges. Those are probably written in Spanish, which she can't read. If she's signed up to receive invoices in English and German, than that's what she should receive. (In the meantime though, she does need to pay the bill to avoid late fees, problems with credit, etc).
But I really have to take issue with this line: "I assume that this company relies on SPANISH speaking customers more than legal immigrants to to the US." So, anyone who speaks Spanish is automatically an illegal immigrant?

Just pay the bill, the numbers are in dollars.
I got a bill in spanish once and it didnt phase me one bit, I just paid it and moved on.
If you refuse to pay the bill dont be suprised to find late fees, service disruption or collection agencies in your future, and they probably speak english so your good.

I didn't know that numbers were different in Spanish. I also guess speaking spanish now makes you an illegal immigrant.
