Ebay tunnel vision.....

This is to express my concern with the manner Ebay has chosen to deal with me as a seller. I started selling in October of 2008. Since that time, I have 1665 transactions and sales of $59,551.43. Obviously, I have paid Ebay a very large sum of money in seller's fees during this time. I had an impeccable record and have even been a Top Rated Power Seller in the past. Nearly a year ago, I had some personal issues. I thought my Ebay store was closed and actually did not even think much about it during this time. There were less then two dozen transactions from my Store during this period which were not completed. The buyers were all refunded and all Ebay fees were paid. Now Ebay has limited me to seven items per month and they froze my wife's account all together, even though she has had a near perfect selling record! My wife's selling account states 100 items or $5000 per month and her dashboard lists no issues. However, she cannot list anything??? When I called Ebay about this situation, I was basically treated as worthless. I was told to fax my personal medical information and they would consider my appeal about the selling limits! I thought about this and decided who is Ebay to see my personal medical record and question my integrity after 1665 transactions over 3 1/2 years?? I did what was requested as a seller and started selling on my site again so my wife's account would be unfrozen. I have made several positive transactions the past 45 days as demonstrated by the delivery confirmations and feedback. Yet, my selling limit remains and my wife's account is still frozen! I believe Ebay's actions are not fair and have not considered my selling history. I think I have more then established "a positive selling history" as required by Ebay and so has my wife. Please lift the selling restrictions on my account and unfreeze my wife's account so she can sell again on Ebay.

Based on my experiences with Ebay thus far, I will be surprised if I receive anything other then a generic canned response to my concerns as I have spoken twice on the phone with different answers each time! Right is right and fair is fair. Ebay needs to step up and look at each case individually and admit that even corporate giants can be wrong sometimes.

Thank you,

Kerry gowest1957

Lift my selling limits and reinstate my wife's account!!

You want them to give you an exception based on your medical issues.
Sounds like they want this claim to be confirmed.

Yes I know you feel your integrity shouldn't be questioned but... it
may not be the first time they've had someone do this either.

Sounds a bit like "Trust but verify" perhaps...

I would hesitate to share medical information in general as well, but
in this case it really is relevent. You did tell them that you had a
situation that affected your ability to run your store, and they want
to verify what you told them. You have the choice to not share the
info and follow their rules to rebuild your rep.

And to be fair, they are only questioning your integrity after almost
24 transactions didn't complete, users that eBay had to deal with.

Kerry R.,

So, in Brick and Mortar terms your store front door was open, the
lights were on, no owners or staff showed up for work, customers
shopped, made purchases, paid and left assuming the goods would be
shipped as part of their good faith payment.

It would appear that these actions fell afoul of eBay's established
rules of use.

The closing of your wife's account most likely is because both
accounts are tied to the same computer so during this period of
sitting on the side lines the ability to sell using the other account
is rendered useless.

Give it some time. Ask eBay when they get back with you plus you might
want to throw your case out on one of the eBay blogs as I am sure you
are not the first to run afoul of eBay's rules.

Good luck and stop back and give us an update.

Bill R.

Can you blame them? Less than 2 dozen auctions went bad, less than 2
dozen (ok lets make it sound bad) MORE THAN A DOZEN! complaints
against were lodged against you.

Next time double check. If you owned a store would you have left it
unlocked while you were having medical issues?

They froze your wife because of your connection to her. This way you
cant cheat and list things on her account.

With TWO DOZEN NPS complaints I'm surprised they didn't close both accounts altogether by The Original Nethead Fri June 22, 2012 @ 12:10 PM
