I am writing to you regarding the unresolved issue as a result of warranty services performed back on 01/17/12. The Diesel was experiencing oil leaks and turbo issues. I met with Don and they kept the truck a couple of days and did warranty repairs to the turbo, seals, etc. When the I picked the truck up I noticed that I was getting an excessive smell of liquid diesel coming from the front of the truck as well as a vibration sound and feeling that was starting to get worse.
On 02/06/12 I brought the truck back in and dropped it off for these issues that had started since the service. When I picked the truck up a couple of days later I was informed an O-Ring on a Diesel Line was spraying Diesel and had been replaced to resolve the smell of liquid diesel. I was also informed that they had done some adjustments and the vibration had now stopped. Over the next 2 weeks the vibration feeling was getting worse and the sound was getting louder again.
On 02/23/12 I dropped the truck back off for the vibration issue and sound. I returned on 02/25/12 and picked up the truck and was informed by Don that they have done all they can to make it stop. I was also informed it is not as bad as on some trucks and that was all that could be done.
On 02/26/12 I went on vacation and returned on 03/04. I started driving the truck again and the vibration had returned and was getting louder once again.
On 03/12/12 I once again dropped the truck off. Mullinax now stated the turbo had issued and kept it a couple of days to perform repairs.
On 03/30/12 I emailed Susan Padro the Service Manager at Mullinax and informed her the turbo an engine still does not sound right and requested that on Monday 04/02/12 they take a ride with me and observe the issue. She stated that she and Denny the mechanic would be there and to come in. When I stopped in on 04/02/12 she had Denny the mechanic take a ride with me. He then informed me the noise was normal because Ford had changed vendors on the turbo parts and that was the way it it sounds.
The truck did not have the vibration feeling and sound prior to the first service in January. I also feel it is totally unacceptable to be told it is not as bad as some trucks when the truck never had this issue in the past. Whatever the problem is causing this issue needs to be resolved. If the Apopka Service Dept can’t fix it then you and Ford need to find someone who can at one of your other dealerships.
I have gotten so frustrated at the performance and noise that Mullinax says is normal that I dropped the truck off at Rush Truck Center, Orlando Dealership and asked them to contact the local Ford Reps to resolve this issue and poor service from Mullinax.
Please have a Ford Rep resolve all these issues that Mullinax has failed to resolve. The truck is presently at Rush Truck Center, Orlando Dealership for inspection and proper repairs that should have been performed over the last 4 months under warranty.
This is an issue that started under warranty and Ford needs to resolve it under warranty since Mullinax was negligent it properly repairing the truck in numerouse attempts.
