broken potato chips!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the 3rd. time I had bought Giant Eagle potato chips.
This time!
The bag was filled with air, I opened the bag.
And there was a 1/2 a bag of chips.
There was sitting on the top!
unbroken chips.
But! underneath it!
The rest was all tiny broken chips.
The 1st.&7 2nd. times the chip bag had no air!
All tiny broken chips!
The 1st time it happened called corporate customer service.
No sooner I hung up!
the Giant Eagle store mgr. called me.
He said to bring the bag back to the store and we will either exchange it or give you your money back.
I had my son go to the store.
When he went to the service desk, told them why he was returning it.
He asked about what the mgr. said to me.
Clearly! the mgr. did not inform them
about it.
they told him "there is no exchange! because the bag was opened!
I called corp. customer service again!
They credited my advantage card for it!
The 2nd. time!
The something!
1/2 a bag of tiny broken chips!
I emailed corp. hq.
Nothing was done, no calls, emails!
Great customer service!!
This time on 4/26/2012, I emailed! So far! NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!
I do not want to get credited on my advantage card!!!!

would like to see you change suppliers!
It's pretty bad!
When your tortilla chips come mostly all in one piece, while the potato chips come all broken!

There is something good that came out of this!
Within 7 days of my compliant to Giant Eagle!
I received 2 Giant Eagle gift cards!
Also! I got check from Shearer's snack co. for $6.00!
And both had a letters were apologetic about what happened.
Do understand!
The 1st. time it happened.
There was no air in the bag at all!
I called Giant Eagle customer service about it.
In less than 5 mins..
The store mgr. called me and I informed him
And it.
He said to bring the bag to the bag the 1/2 of broken chips.
And he would either replace it or refund my money.
I had my son take it back.
When he got there.
And told the customer service person about what it.
They took the bag.
My son asked her about the replacement/refund.
e was told there is none!
Because the bag was open.
Long story short I called customer service and they credit my
advantage card $ 6.00.
The 2nd. & 3rd. time!
Both bags had air in them!
Both had broken chips.
Real simple!!!!!!!!
If you do not let it be known!
Nothing happens!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The bag is full of air so the chips don't get broken, you can't have
it both ways.

First of all - even if it's full of air, products are sold by WEIGHT
not volume.


Second... if you keep having issues why don't you ask the manager if
you can open them right there after purchase to verify that they're
not crushed?


Third... i would think you could tell if a bag of chips were crushed
by gently holding the bag, no?
