On May 9th 2008 I took my twin girls to go get their hair highlited I was told on my last visit there that you did not need to make an apoointment to get 5 foils in their hair they said it helps but you don't have to so i walk in on May 9th now this is for their Birthday they have been waiting and were excited about doing this for their 11th brthday told all their friend that this is what they were having done.... anyways on May 9th we walk in there around 10am there was a full staff on hand and no one one getting there hair cut when we walked in so I was like great girls we beat the rush..Anyways I walked up to the desk to tell them what the girls wanted and I was denied services because they said that I need a appointment to have this done and that it was prom and they could not take us now mind you there was NO ONE THERE getting there hair cut at the time now my daughter had prom that day and I knew the kids did not get out of school until 1200pm now I having cring girls who were really looking forward to this. I then took them out to lunch and a hour later there was a few people getting there hair cut there was not a line out the door were they couldn't of took us... The lady at the desk was really rude to us when we walked in.
I dont even care I just know that you broke 2 little girls heart that day Happy Birthday to them

See, I would have thought "You do not need to make an appointment to get 5 foils in their hair it helps but you don't have to" would mean something like, "Feel free to stop by any time and see whether we have time to do it -- or if you want it done at a specific time let us know and we'll make an appointment for you" and not "Show up whenever, and if you think we aren't busy enough we'll make sure to drop everything and do what you want."
Of course, I would also have thought "We can't fit you in right now" would mean something like "It's not the end of the world, and we'll do it the next time we're here" and not "Turn on the waterworks," so what do I know.
Seriously, you missed a great chance to teach your kids that sometimes you don't get exactly what you'd hoped for, but they can cope with that. And missing that chance, not the Hair Cuttery getting busy right before prom, is what broke their hearts.
I hope that when they get their highlights they look exactly the way they want. And I hope your other daughter had a great time at prom.

Why didn't you just make the appointment when you were there? They said you didn't need one but it helps. When I hear something like this I make an appointment.
This letter was very difficult to read as it is just one long run on sentence.

Maybe on another more quiet day, appointments wouldn't be necessary, but during prom/wedding season, I can hair salons being much busier.
Why WOULDN'T you make an appointment for your own kid's prom night, regardless of what was said to you previously? If all your daughter wanted was "five foils," you could do that yourself at home with those kits.
