Coerced servitude

I just returned from shopping at store# 0051 in Chesapeake, VA and am absolutely livid. I called the 1-800 number on my receipt but feel compelled to warn others in every way possible.

There were only two checkout lanes open and people with full carts in both! I as forced to use the self checkout lane, I commented to the gentleman "watching" the self checkout lanes and he stated you do not have "express" lanes. Due to my agitation and obvious struggle with checking myself out he did assist me, I honestly did not know how to find codes and weigh produce!

This is an underhanded attempt to provide you with free labor! Patrons utilizing self service scan and BAG their own items, thereby doing the work of two employees. Do you think it's my lifelong dream to be a cashier? That was a rhetorical question, if I wanted to do it, I'd fill out an application!

Your prices are much higher than Wal-Mart and Foodlion, they are on par with Farm Fresh. At Farm Fresh they'll even carry your bags and load them in the car! Why am I paying extra at your store since I am not even getting minimum service?

As usual there was no one behind the customer service desk to address my compliant...which is probably for the best. Last time this happened I went over to customer disservice and waited, a girl with short blonde hair and glasses stood at the other end of the desk, not behind it and just looked at me, after several minutes I ASKED HER if she was customer service, she said "yeah"...very unprofessional and rude.

Open more lanes till the Wal-Mart in Edinburgh opens, then go the way of Winn Dixie.

I prefer the self-checkout lanes. I no longer arrive home and find my
refrigerated items divvied up among five bags, or my eggs on the
bottom of a bag (grrrr that idiot!), or my bananas squished in with
canned goods.
