Who's website is it?

I had purchased a Hewlett-Packard Compaq CQ60-420 notebook from Staples. The specifications on the staples and Hewlett-Packard website, and the specifications included with the notebook had originally shown it to include a HDMI port available. The HDMI had been blocked with a plastic piece. I called Hewlett-Packard to complain about this but got the run around instead, they said that the hpshopping website is not a HP site.

I would like Hewlett-Packard to replace my laptop with one with a HDMI port, and possibly upgrade it to compensate me for my time and fustration dealing with them.

If you bought it at Staples then HP can not help you with an exchange.
Didn't you look at it in the store prior to purchasing it? I know they
have display models of the laptops they carry. The only time they
won't have a display model if it is a special limited time purchase
(such as black Friday). Staples has a 30 day return policy on all
electronics. They do not charge restocking fees so you can get your
money back if it is still within 30 days.

I think that it was a mis direction by staples more then likely. I see
this a lot with best buy. The thing is when you are purchasing thru HP
you can customize the machine so there can be differences. Pretty much
every site you cant go by the pictures you need to go by specs list.
If you purchase a machine with regular Intel integrated graphics you
will not have an hdmi connection you need to get an upgraded model
with NVIDIA or ATI graphics to get an hdmi port and that is not a
guarantee. The graphics card needs to be powerful enough to do hd
output which Intel or basic graphics cannot. But buying based on pics
is always buyer beware. When I bought my most recent HP dv3t I
customized it to get hdmi as that is something I need. And you can be
sure If It didn't I would return it right away. And upgrade to one
that does. HP won't be able to do anything since you didn't buy from
them. I would suggest taking It up with staples since that is where
you made the purchase, they should be able to refund you if within
buyers remorse and you can buy an upgraded model. A special of the
week for 400 won't ever have those high end features. If past the
buyers remorse unfortunately you are stuck with It depending on
staples judgement looking on HP shopping I can't see any pictures
showing hdmi but again because of the options one with a better card
might have it. Go see what staples can do.

That's a weak excuse.

It's also a lie. HPSHOPPING.COM is the "HP(r) Official Store."

It says "© 2009 Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P." right there
on the home page.

In fact, HPSHOPPING.COM isn't even a site. It redirects you to
shopping.hp.com, which is more definitely an HP site.

Of course, the only model that they have is CQ60-420US, which
(according to hpshopping.com) does not have an HDMI port. Looks like
they pulled the CG60-420 page.
