I recently bought a laptop, hp pavilion dv9000. it has been one disappointment after another. the 64bit operating system is not compatible with lots of software. the sound cuts out all the time while listening to music or movies. it's very slow despite 4gb of ram and 2 ghz proccesor. i had a toshiba satellite before this had much lower #'s but the performance was much better. the gaming on this pavilion is atrocious! right now i'm trying to import pictures from my old computer via dvd data disc...it says it's going to take 30 days to transfer 1700 pics... and i can't use anything else on the computer without it freezing up. i'll have to find another solution to that. i'm very annoyed to say the least. we spent our hard earned money on this computer and have been so disappointed. i don't really know where to go from here...can't buy a new computer, feel very trapped by the poor product!!!

buy back this computer, and load all of my stuff on another computer. i can't afford to get another...i saved a long time to buy this one.

I've had trouble with an HP Pavilion as well but as far as the 64bit
OS, that's your fault as you made the choice to buy a system that's
not commonly accepted by most software manufacturers yet. If your
computer is slow despite 4GB RAM and 2GhZ processor, it's most likely
clogged with malware and spyware. Again, your fault, not HP's. Do you
have an updated antivirus program? Do you run AdAware regularly? Have
you tried wiping the hard drive and restoring with the recovery disk?
It might help a lot.

Good luck getting them to buy back your computer-not gonna happen. They
aren't responsible for buyer remorse. If you're still under warranty
you may have options though. Call HP, their customer service is
awesome.

They aren't going to load your data on to another computer either.
That's your responsibility. If you're out of warranty and drive
reformat/restore doesn't help. I suggest selling it and buying another
with the money you make. Good luck.
