It looks like you have a HP Officejet J5700 All-in-One Printer series
per HPs web site

Seen this a few times in my job and here.

You cant expect your old hardware/software to work with new
technology. Its like getting mad because you TV from 1989 doesnt
support HD.

Like the last poster said your printer is old. Unfortuantely if they
dont make a new set of drivers for it, you will have to upgrade the
printer itself.

Times change, you need to keep with them unfortunately.

Well there are actually alot of things that you should take into
account here. Yes HP did know windows 7 was coming out but the os was
just released within the last month still very new. With Vista most of
the drivers weren't updated for over 6 months on products of all kinds
and just not HP. As a computer tech i had to deal with alot of
headaches from that and alot of im sorry call the manufacturer. These
things take alot of time to build. The Final version of the 7 os was
only available to manufactures less the 3 months ago. This was kindof
rushed by microsoft while avast amount of drivers still work there a
good amount that don't still for peripheral devices. The printer that
you have that model is over 2 years old since its release date and you
figure all the other models that HP has made it will take a little
while for them to develop new 7 compatible drivers for all of them.
And not being a top selling model it won't be at the top of the list.
They have to get to the most used ones first and work their way down
the list to get all of them taken care of, and there is a possiblity
that there are some won't get updated but I don't think that yours
would be one. But I know I had a mustek scanner that was about 2.5
years old when vista was released and they have NEVER updated drivers
for it. Have you tried to contact HP or even look on thier site? I
know you have internet. One quick look on thier page and here j5780
all in one drivers are available. Posted just last month so they have
been updated though. So really your post is moot and do really need to
research or atleast check out manufacturers site before posting.
Please go here and download and enjoy your printer again. And no they
will not give your free ink for the inconvenience.

Did you check the HP website support section for updated drivers? I
just checked there and the updated drivers are available as a download
for Windows 7.
