A Last Minute and Unexpected Experience ...but Hilton MadeIt Awesome!

This is for the Hilton Hobby Airport Location in Houston, Texas.

I was not suppose to have stayed in Houston on the night of February 19th. I was suppose to have been onboard the Carnival Ecstasy departing from Galveston, however, due to fog the Port of Galveston was closed. The ship was stuck out in the Gulf and we were stuck without a place to go. Carnival handed out a paper with 3 Hotel names on it, The Hilton was the 2nd one on the list and since all hotels in Galveston were booked we had no choice but to go to Houston. I am so glad I chose the Hilton. I don’t think anyone else could have been as nice as they were! Carnival had put the private cell phone number of the GM on the paper they gave us but she took it very well and just directed us to call the property directly where I was able to get a King size room. The room was very nice and was clean and my granddaughter loved playing in the big tub! I love Hilton properties anyway and will always stay at a Hilton property over any other brand but this was just a bonus for me.

The Hotel is very lovely. There is a huge aquarium in the lobby that kept my 4 year old grandchild occupied while I was checking in along with about 50 others from my bus that had brought us to Houston. Our room overlooked the front parking lot and we could see the planes take off the next morning. There was a very nice restaurant onsite that was very gracious about allowing us to go ahead and be seated and order even though they were closing in 5 minutes. I felt so bad to do it but since we were without a car and it was late at night and I had a child to feed, I had to. But I do want to thank the hostess, waitress and cook for allowing this. The next morning the front desk clerk ( a young man) was so nice and sweet. He put up with all us panicky cruise passengers and was awesome about it. I think I owe him a great big thank you as well! There is a very nice business center on site that we could use (allot) to check the various websites to see when our Ship was coming in. I loved it there and if I ever have a cause to stay with the Hilton Hobby Airport location again I will! Thanks again to the poor manager who put up with about 500 cruise passengers calling her cell phone and for giving us a very good rate for such a wonderful property!

T.B.,

This Hilton could not have written this better.

I suggest that you drop a copy of your letter in the mail. Nothing
makes a hotel general manager's day more than a complimentary letter.

Thanks for sharing.

BillR.
