Lots of folks embark on household projects from The Home Depot. As the world's largest home improvement chain and second-largest retailer in the US after Wal-Mart, the firm operates more than 2,150 stores in all 50 US states, the District of Columbia, Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico. It targets the do-it-yourself and professional markets with a broad product assortment (up to 45,000 items, including lumber, floor and wall coverings, plumbing, gardening supplies, tools, paint, and even appliances). Home Depot has reshuffled its top management in response to angry shareholders and sold its construction supply business, HD Supply, in 2007. |

My husband and I are buying a house, which needs new carpet. We decided we were going to rip out the old carpet ourselves. When we started taking the carpet out we realized the padding that goes under the carpet is in great shape. So I call Home Depot (and Lowes) to see if we can get the carpet installed reusing the old padding. The woman I spoke with said that doing that would void the carpets...

I ordered a tub on Homedepot.com. Under the "Free Shipping" details, it states that you should allow 5 - 7 business days for ground delivery. Once I rec'd a tracking number, I now see that it will actually take 16 days from order date to receive my tub. I already had men lined up for sheetrock and other work that needs to take place after the tub is installed. It is now too late to...
