Hornbacher's Grocery Can't be Beat!
Posted Thu September 27, 2007 12:00 pm, by C S. written to Hornbacher's Grocery Stores
I recently moved to Fargo, ND about 2 months ago and had to find a new grocery store. I had heard so many good things about Hornbacher's that I had to check it out.
I can see why everyone speaks so highly about these grocery stores. The one I shop at in north Fargo is open 24 hours, always clean, always stocked with items, and everyone is always so friendly.
The sales are great and clearly marked on the shelves. I love that you also put the ad on your website, that way I can check it before I come in to shop. I also like that you double the value of manufacturer coupons. That makes great prices even better!
The layout of the store makes it easy to do my shopping because similar things are grouped together. That way if you need something to create an entire meal, chances are everything is in one aisle.
On my most recent visit, there were many employees stocking shelves. I like that there were many employees available if I had any questions. And even though they were stocking product, I never once felt that I was in the way.
The wait in line is never a problem because there always seems to be enough cashiers scheduled. Each time I have been there, the cashier and bagger have been very friendly. The cashier is quick and accurate and the bagger always packages things nicely. They even double-bagged a few items that were heavy or bulky, without me even having to ask!
I always leave Hornbacher's with a smile on my face. You can be sure that I will be back time and time again! Thanks for all the great work!
Thanks again,
Casey

I love finding a grocery store that makes shopping much less of a chore, There's nothing better than shopping in a customer friendly, well organized store, I wish there was a Hornbacher's here, they'd definately get my business!

I can't remember the last time I went to a grocery store and there was a bagger... Stores with layouts are always a plus, because no one wants to wander around for three hours looking for milk and find it with the tofu hotdogs.
Thanks for the letter!

When I was going to college out in Fargo, I used to go to Hornbacher's all the time to buy these mini-sub sandwiches that they made fresh every day in the deli. God, I miss those sandwiches.
If it's the North Hornbacher's you're writing about, that's the same one I used to go to. In fact, I lived up in that neighborhood and worked at the Kmart down the street. Small damn world.
Good letter. And good work with Compliment Week this week. I'm glad I could help out with my threats of retribution.

I was beginning to think you weren't going to write a letter... haha!
I'm tempted to just copy your letter and send it to MY favorite grocery store... it's perfect!
I think grocery shopping should be fun, and I appreciate a store that is clean and organized, and makes shopping easy and convenient. If you're leaving Hornbacher's with a smile on your face, then everyone there is doing a great job.
Terrific letter!
