This is actually for HSBC Middle East (UAE & Jordan)

Had multiple incidents recently where the bank has charged me for fees that I wasn't aware of, if I didn't notice such fees on my statement, such fees would have just gone unnoticed.

Contacting the bank is almost impossible! no one answers the land lines or extensions. Sending requests for call back via the internet banking is useless because no one calls back! Some of the bank calling numbers on the website directs you to a call center that doesn't serve the country you're trying to call!!

Only way to get through is via email (if you know the manager) but only to go in circles!! it took me 4 months to reverse incorrect charges on my account !!!

I am extremely disappointed with such customer service and I'm looking around for an alternate bank!

1. Fix your customer service
2. have someone answer your phone lines.
3. Never charge people anything without their consent!!!

I see you're in the UAE. Are any of the charges for international
exchange rates?

I ask cos, I've gotten those too.

Also, when you call don't forget to consider the time shift. Your
branch might be in the UAE but the call centers probably operate on
American times.

And... Oh the memories. Jebal Ali was OK but Dubai had wonderful
shopping. First time I was there was back in hmm 97 or so. During
Ramadan too. Of course back then the giant mall didn't have the ski
slope yet. (Seriously what an awesome idea - skiing in Dubai!).

Last time I was there though... it's surprising to see just how much a
place can change in less than 10 years. The ski slope of course. And
new stores.

If you ever get back out there, check out the hotel that's attached to
that mall. They have a wonderful spa there. Simply beautiful.

*sigh* :-)
