Best Buy Rewards MasterCard

I applied for the Best Buy Rewards MasterCard on 05/23/2007 and unfortunately I was DENIED. Upon denial I immediately called Customer Service to find out why this occured. Cutstomer Service then transferred me to the Credit Department for explanation. The Credit Dept then advised me that the reason for denial was too many inquiries. I am currently trying to re-establish my credit and have opened some new accounts in very recent days. This does not prove however that I am not responsible. As you can see from the report retrieved from Equifax, I am a responsible credit card owner and pay all of my bills on time.

I would really like for my application to be reconsidered since it is apparent that I deserve the Best Buy Rewards MasterCard. With approval to the card I will remain a loyal customer and take GREAT PRIDE in my credit card ownership. My household income added to my good credit allow me to satisfy the terms and agreements of the Best Buy Rewards MasterCard.

Please RECONSIDER me for the Best Buy Rewards MasterCard, it will be GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Since you say you've opened some accounts recently they have probably
taken the approach that errs on the side of caution. They want to see
how you handle those cards before issueing you one.

Don't take it personal, it's only business to them. Demonstate good
use of your existing cards and I'm sure they will reconsider your
application in the future.

You're right: it doesn't prove that you're not responsible.

Whether or not you get approved for a credit card is not a moral
judgment, or a judgment about you as a total person, or anything like
that at all.

They are simply playing the numbers, and apparently some people who
apply for a whole lot of credit in a short time end up spending more
money than they can afford to pay back with interest and fees.

That doesn't mean *you* would do that; they don't know *you*.

Based on your multiple letters here, I can see where the "too many
inquiries part" is coming from.
Usually if you give it a month or two and reapply, you will be
approved, but there is such a thing as too many credit cards, you
know.
